It's an interpretation we can make from a modern perspective for sure, and although it does contain symbolic meaning, we have to begin with how it's symbols compare to the broader tradition it comes from

There is no explicit text that talks about this, but there are suggestions in some Welsh sources, the main one being Preiddeu Annwn (or Preiddiau Annwfn) from The Book of Taliesin. See the Marged Haycock translation in 'Legendary Poems from the Book of Taliesin' or that by John Koch in 'The Celtic Heroic Age'. Don't use the Skene translation.

Hi Mona, not sure what you mean by not Celtic, if by Khumric you mean the Cymry, yes we are Celtic, being on the Indo-European family tree of languages. Our language is on the P-Celtic branch and evolved from the earlier Brythonic. Taliesin may have been alive during the time early Welsh had fully evolved from that earlier type of Celtic. Taliesin almost certainly wasn't chief bard to Arthur. If Arthur was a real man (which several scholars doubt by today) and if he died at Camlan, and if the date for the battle really was 537AD (notice the many ifs here!), then he would have died some years before Taliesin was born, or at least before Taliesin was mature enough to be his bard. The poem does talk of an otherworld across the sea, but this is figurative. Many otherworld's in the Celtic tradition are depicted as being across the sea, but this is almost certainly a symbolic description, the symbolic potential of a myth being more important than its correlation to any historical or geographical reality. Arthwys ap Meurig was King Arthur II and the first King Arthur was Andragatius, son of Macsen Wledig. Period. Truth comes to light now! Taliesin was Arthwys´ Chief Bard. No, it´s not figurative !! The otherworld across the sea was America and it´s all documented. When do you welsh people finally stand for what you are?! There is no need to hide your Kings!

I'm genuinely intrigued being both Welsh and American (perhaps not a little sceptical though - "other worlds across the sea" is well known symbolism from many cultures, and all of them can't be referring to America).
