My four year old daughter. A red headed little girl with the heart of a valkayrie passed March 5,2017 I just found this song today and the image as i sat there and listened over and over brought me such peace I can't describe it. Thank you so much for sharing this song. Without the melody you put it to I don't think it would have given such a healing moment for me. I thank you. I could see my daughter fully grown the wind talking her long vibrant red hair and blowing it gently waking over a bridge spanning a great canyon filled with mist to Valhalla. The lush green rolling hills that would cushion you better then the best bed with little white flowers all over. The scent of freshly fallen rain filling the air. I could see the other warriors in Valhalla standing there, some with spears beating the ground, some with sword and shield moving to meet with each note of the drums in the background as they waited for my daughter to join them. Your words made this image so vivid in my mind that it was almost more real then right now. The combination was pure magic. This song I can't say enough about. Thank you for a wonderful cover that brought some peace to a broken hearted mother.

I really can't believe my dad is gone. He's really gone. He is now up with God in heaven. Finally, he will see Jesus face to face Yes, it is, it’s tough for those left behind. As for him, well I know Jesus is there with open arms and looking forward to seeing him. And now mom, his parents and his brother, uncles, aunts and many others will be there to rejoice to his welcome home party. Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus, for being my comforter, for being my savior, for being my Lord and God. It gives me joy, and I rejoice.

Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. Of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Oh, Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there. I did not die. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep.

The author, Mary Elizabeth Frye, composed this poem in a moment of inspiration, and scribbled it on a paper bag. She wrote it to comfort a family friend who had just lost her mother and was unable to even visit her grave. The year was 1932. While the poem isn't Celtic in origin, it's from the U.S., the words are definitely universal and they sound phenomenal with with Celtic arrangements.

Though a modern work, it is connected with a style traditional to not only Celtic, but also Indo-European, culture. This it resonates with our most ancient heritage. The Song of Tuan from Old Irish literature is an example; and it even resembles in style a section of the Bhagavad-Gītā, as well reflecting the teachings of the Gita.

Actually she didn't do any of those things because she didn't write it. It was written by Clare Harner on 1934. You just repeated an urban myth about plagerism.

Leah, My wife died at the end of may, She was 62. I wrote a Eulogy and this verse. If you like it, you are welcome to use it. I've taken to writing a lot of verse of late. Some of it reasonable some probably cheesy. Here is that verse. Please do not weep for we must depart. I'll always be there, there in your heart. A little tiny piece, a tiny little part. Of the friendship and love we did impart. When you're sitting silent. I'll suddenly be there. Right beside you in that chair. Bringing you thoughts and memories of times gone by. Where we did laugh and we did cry. Please remember me with happiness. And please do not distress. For I've not gone I'm just unseen. And your sadness will only demean. The memory of all we've had. So please please don't be sad. Stephen Murray.

Leah- thank you for creating this son. It helps a 16 year old wound. Sixteen years ago I lost my hero, my Dad, both my Grandmothers and my husband all within 6 months of each other. The hurt is deep and is like it was yesterday. So it takes a lot to soothe the pain. Thank you.

Kimberly Landis The suffering either makes us strong or we succumb to it. I had no time to grieve for any of them. For my husband left me with two sons - 1 just 6 years old and the other 3. And since I worked for my state's welfare board 300 other families to worry over and take care of. As a client told my supervisor one day "Don't get rid of Ms Triplett. She's a leader, helper, and inspiring. We thought we had it bad until we heard her story after seeing the photos of her sons. How she does it we don't know. But she's inspired us to pick up the pieces and carry on." Guess it comes from a life time of service but if you ever need a shoulder I'm still strong enough to be there for you.

So it’s saint patricks day and my dad loved his irish heritage, he always thought a dragonfly was related to his spirit in a way. and he passed away many years ago and after his burial on the ground we saw a dying dragonfly. now i was talking to my girlfriend about the traditions of saint patricks day and right behind me she points out a dragonfly. It flies away right after I notice it and remember my father.

Makes me think of the residents I used to (still up for debate) work for in a nursing home. We are all free and equal in death, and we are all equal in our last days. Treat the dying how you would want to be treated. It will happen to you one day. I fully believe that no matter how "out of it" somebody is little things still make a difference to them. Ask them what they want to wear if they can still respond. Ask them how their day was if they can respond. Ask them about their kids. If they can't talk for themselves just tell them what's going on in the facility and with your day. They appreciate it. They are living in their own personal hell, they appreciate it, trust me. Please visit your parents and grandparents if they are in a nursing home, even if they can barely hold a conversation or just straight up can't, please just visit them once in a while and be there beside them, even if it's painful to see them in their state, it's worse for them. So many feel forgotten. It means so much for them. I've seen cnas talk shit about patients in front of them or say to not bother doing things because they don't realize/don't care. Don't listen to that shit. Treat them like the human beings they still are unless you are literally so pressed for time that other residents might not get their basic needs met if you take extra time. It's one thing if you have so many patients that you just don't have the time do do anything extra but if you can't be bothered to give a patient their table or their remote or book when everyone else is already laid down and you have 3 hours until your next rounds you're just fucking lazy to the point of cruelty. Give them their fucking little hat. Give them their fucking book. Ask them how their day was. Clean their fucking spoon off if you just put it in some shit that you wouldn't want to eat together with the shit you are about to feed them. Wipe their goddamn piss off their body after you change them when they were soaked even if you have no wipes, use a fucking paper towel if skin breakdown isn't a major issue for them. It's all they have left. (you wouldn't believe the amount of cnas I've seen not do this.) These people still have emotions that are often not taken as seriously as they should be because they are old (and I am not talking about cases of severe dementia here.). I am drunk.

angelstouch92 Awww...well, my pet rock drowned. My brother threw it into the lake yesterday...lol jk. But seriously though, my cat died, too. A hawk ate it. Came home from work one day and what do you know...on the tree branch above my front lawn there lies the dead body of my cat and a hawk tearing away at it. Damn raptors.

This is so beautiful...when my Mother died in February of 1998 someone gave me a sympathy card with this poem on the cover. It gave me such great comfort that I framed it. Thank you for putting this to music!
