As a Celtics fan, their defense in this playoffs so far is by a landslide the best it's been since the 2022 postseason. They are on an absolute string, the communication is next level. Porzingis being out reduces their offensive versatility significantly but I think they'll survive because of how lethal they can be defensively without him. Al Horford has somehow still got it at his age and with him being the main big instead of KP they can switch way more actions. As long as they don't completely fumble their offensive execution, it is going to be so hard for any team to beat them four times when they are giving up barely anything on defense.
@devinberry4472Ай бұрын
I think a MASSIVE part of it has been Tatum's willingness to focus on defense. He has had double digit rebounds every game so far in the playoffs and his scoring is down significantly, he's sacrificing his numbers to play team ball and be better defensively.

They actually gave up a ton of wide open 3s and their defense felt like it was in second gear all night, like they didn't even need to give full effort on every possession. Just takin it easy and still holding your opponent under 100. Part of that is just the Cavs' overall poor shotmaking and low firepower outside of Mitchell. If Celtics wanna win it all though there's gonna be those games where they have to be in fifth gear the whole 48 and even a single lax defensive possession could give up the difference in the final score.

I agree with the person above. Ive been a celtics fan just as long as u. I actually met pierce, antoine walker and ricky davis as a kid. Yoi aint no true fan bro sorry. And thats coming from someone who has been very critical of the celtics this whole year. I think joe mazulla sucks, tatum is soft, and porzingis gets hurt too much. However their defense when they lock in is just as good if not better than the wolves. Defense is part of their natural team dna. Now that the heat are gone since they love choking to them, they definitely stand a chance with anyone left in the playoffs. So for you to say that was wild submissive behavior.
@flaminguoАй бұрын
@@lloydbonafide3398 i just hope I’m wrong cause what is see the wolves doing are against better competition. As good as boston has been this year, as much as they’ve fixed their choking and letting off the ropes problem. I still don’t see boston winning 4 games against the nuggets, so with the wolves manhandling the nuggets when they were destroyed by them last year, man i won’t underestimate the wolves. Regular season records mean nothing in the playoffs. I just stand with bill simmons on this just being realistic been watching the game long enough that what the wolves are doing with such a young leader in edwards is something very different special even. I just hope he has yet fully develop into that alpha player like early jordan vs Detroit. Then boston would have a chance. But going forward unless he is injury prone i can see the wolves finally goin all the way a few times even. I’m fan of boston but even more so I’m a fan of basketball. Seldom we see someone as young as edwards be alpha with a good team around him, last time it happened would be duncan winning in his rookie year and dwade with shaq. Don’t tell me you don’t see this? Jt and jb are good but i would not put them in duncan, d wade conversation. But AE is showing us something else this playoff run. lets just hope I’m wrong
