"James9 months ago (edited) but the night wouldn't be long enough for this party" Quite right, from what i can tell this song has a very Fae vibe even if it isn't talking about them directly, and is likely a reference to the Eternal Dance at least obliquely.

Music proves its universality in the way it makes us feel. I am Spanish and Flamenco makes me want to cry of passion, Irish music makes my heart dance till my feet can follow, Nordic and North European music makes me feel brave and powerful, African musics make my heart beat to their rythms, Desi music takes me to a world of emotions, East Asian music make me feel impossibly graceful and elegant... There is no music that makes us indifferent. Music is the language of the souls, way more than what any literature can be, and because of it, it can share emotions that could not be shared in any other way. Music is the cleansing of the souls, and the easiest way to tie everyone together emotionally. It is an experience that can be felt alone or as part of something much humanely bigger. Music does not discriminate, and makes us all equals when it joins us in one same feeling at one same time. Music is magic

Funny when Chloe comes out and makes a sad face while throwing her arms up, while Ray and Mairead keep playing. Yes! Mairead Nesbitt has been playing since she was 6 years old. She played in Michael Flatleys "Lord of the Dance" and "Feet of Flames" Irish dancing productions in the '90's. Currently, she is the last member of the original Celtic Woman that began in 2005. A lot of the fun of their performances is watching her play and dance around the stage.

Yes, new singers but the songs change, the act playes, the players are the same but they know these through and trough and I love how they just have fun it. Not only Ray and Mairead, I always look the old ones in the background too.

because effort. the reason i went to look for the live was because i wanted to know if they can manage that level of harmonics without a machine. some people can but the level of harmonics between them is...well...perfect. if it was done without the aid of a machine it would be a sign of incredible talent. the synchronization of the harmonics of the different singers and the band is amazing if unaided, but if a machine is involved it requires a much lower amount of talent, and effort. one of the most important things in art is the effort involved in its creation, it's why the original painting of the mona lisa is more valuable than a digital reproduction. was another painting i had seen some time ago but can't seem to find, renaissance i believe a highly detailed painting of a courtyard and in one of the windows is a guy painting another painting. THAT takes skill, but a photograph of the same scene would not require much skill.
@telesamherring
@telesamherring 4 жыл бұрын
@@tuseroni6085 Here's a thought, why don't YOU do that choreo and sing it live yourself, ya know, be the change you want and all that shit. Renaissance paintings and stage performances are two very different things and comparing them is like comparing fruits and vegetables. Yea, they're plants (in this case, forms of art), but the flavors are vastly different. You're comparing orignals to mock pieces, something that has no comparison here on a performance piece. Now, this stage as a WHOLE is an art piece and you're about to be like "there's no effort" because you feel they "lip synched". LOOK AT THE WHOLE PERFORMANCE and try to fucking tell me there's a lack of effort again. NEWS FLASH: EVEN BROADWAY STARS LIPSYNCH! *gasp* shocker, i know. Oh and BTW, since you obviously don't know, professionally, for a performance to be considered "live", only 70% of vocals need to actually be live, which, it would seem, was done in this performance. But, right, "effort". 🤔🤔🤔 you should put "effort" into some schooling, or working and make something of yourself instead of bitching about people who already have.

This is the first concert DVD where the girls are OBVIOUSLY live and there's no room for debate.
@ExcaliburEmrys
@ExcaliburEmrys 10 жыл бұрын
The first part is live indeed, but at a certain point I'm pretty sure it's not. The girls are exceptional, but no one can dance like that and still sound flawless like the studio version, not even the best trained singer.
@pernellparker3366
@pernellparker3366 10 жыл бұрын
***** Actually, The girls are not always live, and on the DVDs the audio is always dubbed to get rid of any flaws (hard breathing, missed notes), or difficulty with the audio. In the case of a DVD, the live audience may very well be hearing the girls live, but the home audience is more than likely hearing either completely dubbed audio, or a mixture of the two. When performing live, the girls do a combination of lip synching and singing live. For instance: The fans sitting in the first few rows are hearing the girls' projected, raw voices. Straight up, live vocals. But, as we get further out into the crowd, we hear not only live audio, but also pre-recorded tracks, or studio audio. This sort of helps the girls voices to "blend". Also, some songs are live, and others are not, and parts of songs are live while the whole thing is not. For example: Susan may sing Caledonia live, but she may sing The Voice with playback due to its vocal difficulty and the fact that she's probably tired as hell. (The Voice is a very difficult song). Also, she may start out singing The Voice live, but end up using playback toward the middle of the song. Mairead's ALWAYS playing her violin, but the sound of the violin is being amplified and played through speakers further out into the audience. These girls are all extremely well trained vocalists, but think about it. They run a pretty damn vigorous tour schedule which takes a toll on their voices. Therefore, lip synching at certain points is necessary.

Pernell Parker I mostly agree, although I'm not sure that they would mix live and recorded in a live event. Speaking as a live engineer who has been mixing since the age of 7; mixing a recorded track and a live track is an absolute nightmare, which almost never turns out the way you expect it to. I have worked events where we have a recorded vocal mix on a separate channel from the live mix, but it is only used for backup (singer starts loosing their voice, mic goes dead, etc.). I don't claim to be as good as the celtic woman engineers, but I am pretty darn sure they don't mix recorded and live. I am pretty sure the girls are good enough to pull those vocals... even on the local level that I work, I've run into a few vocalists that can pull off keeping a steady vocal with a lot of movement. I just finished a youth theater gig where one of the girls was flipped into the air while singing, and if you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't notice any variance in her vocal... speaking as the engineer, it was 100% live... if a local kid can do that, I can only imagine what these world famous musicians can do. That being said, most of their previous albums I believe were studio recordings synced with live video (even though I think they were just as good live as in the recording). The reason I am so sure of this is the mics. They are using wireless mics, but the recordings don't sound like they used wireless mics (analog systems tend to have excess noise, and digital systems sound compressed). Their previous videos didn't have excess noise, and they didn't sound compressed, leaving me to believe they were recorded with wired mics. This video I could believe is live, since the vocals do sound compressed at times. It is also possible that they used mostly live, and edited in studio recordings during rough patches like Pernell Parker suggested. Anyway... believe me or don't... I'm not trying to subtract from the singers any... more or less saying "who cares?!". No matter if it's recorded in a studio or live, it's great music, and I look forward to their next album.

***** Who said it was you who deleted my comment? :) Secondly, in my comment there was a video from the SFTH tour which PROVES the lyp sinc on tour - at least for some of the songs, not all of them of course. As for the dvds, I'm sure they are live recorded. BUT, when they are released, it's crystal clear that we don't hear the same performance. Is it clearly replaced, in many segments, by the studio recording. For instance, in this video the first part without music is totally live. Then, what we hear is the studio version. I mean, come on, try to compare them and use your ears. Now let's see if this comment wil be deleted too :)

Stephanie Eisenstaedt This was a recording of the South Bend, Indiana performance in last year's (2013) "Emerald Isle" tour. Chloe didn't leave Celtic Woman until after the tour ended, so she is in this performance. She wasn't in the Christmas concert and is not touring with Celtic Woman right now. There is no indication that she will be back in the lineup anytime soon, although I suppose that could change.

If you're not in Ireland, it is permissible to refer to the language as Irish Gaelic to differentiate it from Scottish Gaelic, but when you're in the Emerald Isle, simply refer to the language as either Irish or its native name, Gaeilge."
