Well I went through the apprenticeship program for 4 years and let me tell you it paid off I learned a lot as an apprentice and even as a journeyman

I was a cement mason as was my pops. I have an old film of him pulling up and the world's fair is behind him. He was proud to be a Mason. I been on jobs with him since I was 4,5 I once rode my trik in the cement and got off and walked. Lolol I had to stay in the car the rest of the day. Lol. I got to do the edges at 11 and 12. It's in my blood. This man is right all days are very different. The hard labor is a blessing in disguise. I was strong. I started out doing demolishing floors in NYC. I went on to work in the Mason tenders union as a brikie laborer. Than with the GC which was alot less demanding. I wanted to be a concrete finisher like my pops so I went in. I already had alot of experience. I proud to be a tradesman concrete was fun to me. Working with the guys was the best especially when you get into rhythm ;- ) Some contractors where cement Mason killers pouring 5 trucks a day of finished sidewalks with finishing the curbs striping the forms and only two guys. That wasn't cool at all. But all in all it's a good trade the monies used to be good I don't know what it is today. Seems like it could be better in our time we are having and compared to other trades or even the buisness world. I went on to building bathrooms and kitchens etc. Than the internet selling products. But I worked for a local fellow who needed a good tradesman to finish. He's gone now. Seeing these videos I'd like to get my feet wet again. ;- )

no carpenters make 13 more an hour and sparkys union gets 20 more so not that the best in pay. I do think we should be making the same as the carpenters union but the lazy union reps won't strike because there getting kick backs from the companies and sitting in a nice ac and heated office all day watching Netflixs
