Points for Craigmont for having a fighting spirit but Central is an entire different tier… they have such a mature sound and understand how to play together. Points on Craigmont’s arrangements but Central is head and shoulders the better group

Central is definitely my favorite high school band after the long battle with whitehaven last year they’re musicianship is top tier they sound so damn good as a big band and they old school classic’s hit every single time

I love the phrasing from Craigmont baritones they were very articulate and powerful through all songs. Central had some good phrasing but wasnt always heard through the band. You dont need as many horns to do work if you go players. Great Job Craigmont👍🏾

(I didn’t attend either school and i’m not biased) Both bands need work on the consistency of there upper brass. Especially Trumpets , for both bands they are not heard unless they hang over or if the band is playing soft . Intonation issues especially mellos & btones for both bands. I enjoyed Centrals song selection more it got the crowd into the battle especially that “Under The Influence “ nice arrangement! I enjoyed the woodwinds on “Hey” but y’all can use more complicated arrangements in the future and push them trumpets!! But overall y’all have a good balance just need more trumpets and maybe 1 more mello I enjoyed Craigmont’s musicality & arrangements more ,but some of the songs seem to be written more complicated than it should be. Resulting in the groove of the song being lost for example the “ Liberian Girl” it’s was a great a arrangement but it didn’t get a mj feel from it . Mellos please stop hanging over y’all got range but don’t ruin the song by playing sour notes at the end😭. But over all y’all sound good just need a bigger trumpet & woodwind presence . And sometimes it seems y’all are just blaring notes trying to be loud. Y’all both are great highschool bands tbh and will give a lot of smaller colleges a run for there money ! All in all a great high school battle but i’ll rate a tie

Central really didnt sound bad at all. I heard less mistakes from Central then I heard from Craigmont. Craigmont came in early a couple times and their Mellos was actually over shooting a few notes. Central played to their strengths but arrangements didn't come no where near Craigmonts. Pretty even battle to me fr. Probably Battle of the year for High Schools .... Glad to see High School bands taking band serious these days
