What is the effect of temperature on delivery pipe of the centrifugal pump?

If we switch on the centrifugal pump, will it work and suck liquid from suction pipe? If initially it doesn't have liquid inside the impeller and suction pipe, and liquid present in the sump and not in the pipe. Will it able to create suction pressure and able to discharge liquid?
