Bruh Phenom with that insane comeback against Jwong... The uphill battle he had where Jwong had match point twice and yet Phenom somehow came back and then ended it with a perfect KO to Jwong. Just a masterful performance, holy shit that was intense.

@@ivaerz4977 That's the thing with Idom though, he makes the low tiers the top tiers. Remember people complained about Laura when Idom was the only Laura player taking home wins and the only Laura in top 8, 16's and so on. Only one other person used Laura well beside Idom in the world. Even took a major tournament for the first time with Laura and Poison when Poison was the worst character in the game on release you can even see the commentary where the commentators say that out loud surprised he took it with the lowest tiers no less at the time. Then here he is again with Manon a lower tier where once again the commentatorsx are calling out people who keep saying manon can't do alot of things and is weak but here's idom showing people how its done. Its the same with Infiltration's Juri in SFV, a low tier back in the day and he took EVO Japan's 1 place, then a Sakura main winning Red Bull and so on with many more tournament champs winning with low tiers. Manon is not strong but as always he makes them look broken as hell because of his gameplay. Watch its gonna happen again, people gonna scream she's OP because of Idom again even though she's called weak. The dude just knows how to play the character the way noone does, that simple. Mena's using blanka too. Sheesh really enjoying this. Idom gonna have trouble with Mena though cuz mena is doing really well.

Jp is just gimmicky and a scrub killer but a lot of his shit is high risk high reward and highly punishable. You can kill a JP fairly quickly if he makes a few incorrect hard reads

I’ll never understand why these tournaments don’t clearly tell you which player is which? I know a handful of pros but at least 85% of these matches I have no clue who is playing. I wish they’d tell you because all i do is try to figure it out from their facial expressions and it’s pretty impossible.

I totally agree, one way I kinda figured out is when they win a round, they pan the camera to the player to tell you who won, hope that helps

Cabba is amazing. Those Marvel combos on SF and so many good reads. Punk dominated the entire tournament using Cammy just not to use Cammy against Mena?... WTF... Anyway the lack of Japanese players on this tournaments was a let down for sure. Mena is just like a young Jwong that plays lame and win lol.

I see most of the players drive rush a lot. Aside from closing the gap quicker, is there an inherent advantage in drive rush? does it make the buttons plus or something?

I believe drive rush makes your moves 4 frames safer on hit/block. Its good for safe pressure and opens up new combo routes.

Yup. There are some links you can't do without it and as the other guy said it's +4 on everything. The game says you have to dash while parrying but you can do forward>forward+parry to do it faster.
