I think he picked his career and determination for success over his past relationships. He was never emotionally invested. I can see how the assistant could misunderstand, but she seemed to allow her own emotions and delusions take over. You can never force what was never yours to begin with.

@@kumicuthbertson4653 no parent ever believes that their kid would make correct decision regarding falling in love or getting married by themselves. 😁 When it comes to opposite gender, all parents believe that their kid is being fooled or trapped. That is the theme of 99% of movies and TV shows throughout the world. Only difference being that parents in West don't have a right to interfere, whereas in East mostly the parents are the final decision makers. A kid can't simply ignore them. 🙂
