The fact that you just came after swf2 started airing and wrote this kind of comment shows that you know nothing about waacking cuz if you did you would've already watched this battle cuz it's popular . SO LET ME EXPLAIN TO YOU WHY YOONJI WON. For the first song , yoonji enters the song at the right time with the right energy , she gives us immaculate footwork that matches the beat perfectly and also shows more diverse waacking variations than cera while having an attitude that matches the intesity of the song and keeping her musicality up there . But I have to say that yoonji had the better part , but still that doesn't change the fact that she won the first round . For the 2nd round , cera already wasted a lot seconds (10 or more if I'm not wrong) and her round felt very very short adding to that the fact that the song requires strong expression of emotions to serve it .Yoonji started this round slow with very smart movements dancing to instrumentals and adlibs at the same time ( especially when she uses her shoulders), she strengths it up doing her thing and really expressing the lyrics and the emotions very well (you really can see the song through her). All the judges had the right decision except lipj which I wasn't surprised by since she was very inactive in the waacking scene and events , but I could say that her judging in this competition was basic and she wasn't observing the details (the only judges who were excellent were soulk and babysleek)

Small note on my analysis : the walking cera did in the beginning of the 2nd round was very good but it was long which wasted some seconds that she could've used to her advantage

@@otakuforever779 you shouldn't be this analytical about a PERFORMANCE lmao... yes it's a battle, but at the end of the day this is a performative art... it is subjective. but you can if you want. when i analyze performance, it should come from a place of looking at their tech, looking at their musicality. you can't just say someone is "very smart" with their movements??? like what? lol like it's fine to be subjective, but you're trying to be objective with art... art is meant to be subjective. you're making assumptions and trying to dictate how a song should be performed with emotion or without emotion, or how something "matches the beat perfectly", etc. there are different elements to music. there's a snare, there's a bass, there's synth... no one is right or wrong in how they interpret an instrumental, and there's no way to judge someone and claim they're "perfectly matching a beat" lmao. the judges don't even say that, they just vote bc it is supposed to be subjective, not objective like you're trying to make it to be also* you need to really read this: trying to discredit lip j is FOUL of you. shame on you very much. the "waacking scene and events" ??? how dare you. it doesn't matter if she was judging or performing, she has a whole career based on waacking. you need to go back and learn the HISTORY of waacking. waacking wasn't made in korea, you should learn that first of all. waacking is truly a western dance form that korea and many asian countries took. this was an art form that dates back many decades. it used to be called punking because anyone who danced this form were called "punks." there were no women even performing it when this form first started until it became mainstream. the real pioneers who made this art form which were gay men and trans women in the queer scene. THAT's the real waacking scene. never forget that. btw i respect your opinion, you can be happy yoonji won, but there are many upvotes on my comment showing people disagree with the video, and there are many other comments with so many upvotes in the comment section that show they disagree as well. you need to start looking at this art subjectively. don't just stan your faves, because that's what the judges already do in any waacking scene, not just asia, it happens also in africa, also in europe. waacking has made a comeup in many dance functions and outlets, because the producers want to attract a larger audience, a whole new demographic. you can see many people who enjoy waacking don't always appreciate hip hop or popping dancers as much and vice versa. real performers appreciate any style because it is subjective, but there are fans who only follow their faves. it's a shame really but it also affects the judges. the judges are afraid to give chances to other dancers trying to come up in the current waacking competitions, because pushing forward the well known "waackers" is what gets views and publicity for their competitions. they open up rookie competitions solely to just let newer waackers have an opportunity to just battle because the well known names are always favored

So , concerning subjectivity , I do agree with waacking being subjective but I feel like a judge should put aside their preferences and try to have a an exact criteria where they give every aspect of the dance its worth , like why would waackxxxy participate in a competitiom where the judge gives much more importance to drama than technique , she'll obviously lose cuz her brand is technique.But yeah , I feel like the judges who tried to be the most objective and evaluate the dancers taking in consideration both of their styles are soulk and babysleek who had almost always perfect decisions . I mentionned lipj there because she did much better as judge in past competitions than this one . Concering the history of waacking , I don't think I should touch on that because I don't need someone to eduacte me on it since I do know it with details . When it comes to my language , I could've phrased the part " so smart" better cuz I wanted to say that she gave versitility
