We take you to Santo Stefano di Camastra in the Province of Messina. The present day town was founded in 1683 Giuseppe Lanza, Duke of Camastra, who rebuilt the town after a terrible landslide that destroyed the original town .
Here is our episode on Ceramics: • Ceramic heaven: Santo ...
The town is mostly known for its colorful ceramics and the many pina or pine cones and Testa di Moro, or the Moor Heads.
We also stop at the Mother Church dedicated to San Nicolo di Bari. On the way we walk around Santo Stefano di Camastra and stop at a cafe to see what is atypical street foods.
The War Memorial is in a beautiful square with a majestic view of the sea.
Santo Stefano di Camastra is one of three towns in Sicily known for its ceramic production. The others are Caltagirone and Sciacca.

… fortunately we did go there … what a treasure … holistically, the best place I have ever been… I thought I was in paradise… a small town of around 3.000 people… so cozy… and the people so nice … in addition to all the ceramics… were certainly going to return!!!
