We're meeting up with the Federation Ambassador to the Delta Quadrant, ( a questionable title) Neelix. Joining us on this endeavour is Mr. Vulcan himself, Admiral Tuvok.
But of course, we run into some Delta Quadrant residence used to pushing others around, the Kazon and the Malon.
Looks like we've got competition.
Star Trek Online is full of stories and call-backs to the TV series of days gone and to come. Set in the Star Trek universe's 25th century it places you in the center of these events in an ever expanding series of tales.
Join me as I fulfill the role of a Starfleet Captain, Mark Hale from the 23rd century as the Iconians Return!

That Neelix did not run up and hug Tuvok when he beamed down is simply a crime against characterization. :-)

Neelix showed remarkable restraint in this reunion...no doubt related to his on going ambassadorial duties and experience over the last few decades... but honestly i doubt Tuvok would have minded (very much) the genuine heartfelt greeting after so long...

@@singletona082 yes, that was very classy and noble of him to do so...even if other Vulcan's would have viewed it as illogical... Tuvok had a bond with the crew of Voyager that could not be ignored...repressed possibly but it was still there...and it gave him a perspective that served him well later

All the Voyager crew did amazing jobs. Tim, Ethan and Jeri were gangbusters. Garret was ok... his "30-years older Harry" was a bit.. I dunno weird or off. Robert was probably the bottom of the performance level for me but even he was very good just not "the top 3" good. It was so awesome hearing them all again.

I hate the Malon...but more for out of universe reasons. In ,RL, antimatter and matter anhilliate each other, release energy, and DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY "WASTE". The Malon were added to comment on RL pollution, via allegory..

While some have found Neelix to be a bit annoying and self-righteous at times it's not really the actor's fault it's the material he was given with and the occasional inconsistent/bad writing.

Awww my heart warmed up so much when much older Tuvok named Neelix his old friend. Amiably so. For a Vulcan that's really progressive! Good for you Mr Vulcan! Proud of you as an Admiral in this timeline! Love to hear Neelix' voice again. I have never played this game. Would like to play it for the storylines and lovable characters of old trek canon!❤

Ah yes in order to give someone a seasoned pot I needed to go get a cast iron pot from a pot collector, make molten stew for a giant Goron and then give the pot to a subtosian just to get a needed item.

I cannot thank you enough for this. I found Star Trek online extremely difficult to navigate so after quite some time I gave up having accomplished nothing. It means a lot to me to see where these characters lives have gone. Thank you 3000

I am really, REALLY hoping you do as many of the DQ patrol missions as possible, given that they actually hold a good portion of the Delta Rising story by setting out much of the background details that explain how things have been changing and set up several of the key players. It's a real pain that they removed the wrapper missions and the intel missions that could only be accessed through those wrappers, but honestly some of my most favorite moments from DR come from some of those missions. You just... need to consult the wiki to find out the original order and when in the overall mission arc they came out in.

It's odd how none of the Malon wish to learn how to recycle waste as it presents a dual revenue stream. The first revenue stream is the standard waste disposal service and the second revenue stream resulting from waste recycling said waste is the sale of fuel. They would be paid to acquire resources for fuel distribution. It's the perfect business model.

they've just never encountered Captain Planet and had a proper talking to that's all...you would think a species capable of inter planetary travel would have advanced far enough to see the failing logistics of simply dumping their toxic wastes further and further away from their population...eventually you are going to encounter someone that really objects to this selfish and short sighted behavior and return all the waste back to Malon Prime at one go... not a good day for them...that's all i can say about it

@@ArmageddonEvil in my own personal non-canon canon they did...also the Borg of the Mirror Universe are far more scary...with standard drones being over nine feet tall and two extra upper limbs one of which has a multi-phase replicator tool to produce any tool or weapon needed at the time and very, very fast...they also have personal cloaking abilities and are able to transport from site to site...one drone would be capable of taking control of any ship encountered within a very short time...

@@ArmageddonEvil guess in the prime (non Kelvin) universe the concept of the borg having cloaking technology (either ship or bio-based jem'hadar type for drones made them far too powerful a foe for the script writers since it really would have made them virtually unbeatable by anything Starfleet or the Federation realistically had at the time...

There are several points in STO missions where dialogue mentions the Alpha Quadrant and Alpha Quadrant Powers while talking about the Federation, the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Republic, which is of course rather odd considering all are based primarily in the Beta quadrant, other than perhaps the Federation which spans both. Just something weird I noticed while playing.

I adore the way Tuvok's lines become more and more strained as he remembers the times he and Neelix shared and that strangling him (a hologram, not the real one) to death repeatedly was once the most effective stress relief technique Tuvok had.

I wonder how they are going to deal with the alien species from the episode "living witness" where the doctors backup module was left behind only to reactivate. The whole episode took place over centuries including when he took a shuttle to return to the federation.

As annoying and aggravating as i found Neelix on the show? That moment on the transporter pad felt... genuine. Tuvok was always one of my favorite vulcans. Logical, authoritarian when necessary, but always willing to explain his rational beyond 'I am vulcan I say so.' He had an almost spiritual feel about his ruling over his emotion and finding a balance point. Edit: At this point I was trying to make the Dideredex work and it was just so... gods damned... SLOW. By the time I'd been able to get my T6 T'liss? I basically hated every other ship I'd tried. I love my little doom hockypuck of torpedoing. I'd gotten the T'liss right around the time of the Iconians and... frankly she fits how i like to play nicely. 'Oh look NOW they're hailing us' *music stops* It isn't the federation way and it is dishonorable so not the klingon way, but it really is a shame there wasn't an optin to go 'Yeeaa considering you only hit the call button when we pulped you and your allies who tried a blindside charge? How about I blow you up instead?'

“The many species out here that outstrip the Kazon in terms of technology”. There are ice cream vans that outstrip the Kazon in terms of technology. If you’re looking for spice, may I suggest asking Captain Picard to show you the way to Arrakis? I do like that there’s an acknowledgment that the Ocampa are our in space now. Should have been done in the show given that their energy reserves would have run out around Season 5, but no, crazy old Kes revenge story it is!

Hmm...watching this made me play STO again...but after years of absent (I stopped when the Iconian War and Delta Quadrant stuff appeared) I feel like a total newb...the old fleet I was part is also long gone. Pretty sad. Had a lot of fun times.

Agreed that it's bizarre to see the Kazon; although wouldn't it be hilarious if the Borg and others just let them pass through because they weren't worth engaging? Like, they made it this far just because they were a joke. Either that, or this Kazon set out in the opposite direction as Voyager, and just a few days into the Delta Quadrant, found a wormhole that skipped them 30,000 lightyears closer to the Federation... ;-) EDIT: Yeah, the Gateways make more sense. Good thinking, Rick.

It's a bit of a pity that we can't visit New Talax. It would make a nice social zone (the Drozana of the Delta quadrant) or an adventure zone like New Romulus where we could help the Talaxians build up their colony. A bit less "fight-y" than Kobali Prime.

Seems theres an opportunity for commerce. Federation tech to recycle the radiation, Talaxians need for a home, Malons need to dump. Set up a processing area, get paid, no messy radiation cluttering up the place.

The distant Telaxian colony confused me. After all, Neelix was first met near the Omkampa homeworld, and then left in the final season of Voyager. During the season, they'd been moved 30,000 light years closer to home, which I believe is about 30 years of travel at max speed. I suppose if they can spread that far, the Khaizon are nothing.

I like the delta arc it shows the savage beautiful of the Star Trek Universe due to there not being a true dominant faction until you the player make one. If the Vaadwaur join the new faction you forum after you remove the Blue Gil from their main world would it be the most powerful faction?

I feel like being 1km off doesn't seem that big of a deal, but at the same time it's the difference between open space and a dark matter asteroid which the sensors didn't pick up. Fun stuff.

Hated Neelix at first when I started my first watching of Voyager. Not gonna lie, six seasons later, I was sad when he stayed behind in the final season. I was happy to see him again in STO.

The writers really messed him up. Ethan Phillips was the only reason he wasn't killed. The talaxians being found episode really made my view of him turn around. He's like that because he doesn't really have anything left.

Well, he might've been annoying, but he was still part of the crew. And his heart was always in the right place. And knowing the backstory of his people, you couldn't help but like him a little, considering he'd managed to stay that upbeat for as long as he had.

Is the thing with the spices a new addition to this mission or is it just a random thing that you get to do? I ask because when I played this mission, I got the part where I had to help them with duty shifts and such instead.

It's a random chance which one you get...sometimes you get spice, sometimes you get sweaty.

@@humansvd3269 not that one I mean the episode where Nelix left the ship. They had the option to move to the colony to a planet with Voyagers help but they didn't because the writers did not want the "bad guys" to win I guess
