1:15 RIP Roomba fanboys, nothing substantial to hide behind now. Partially jest but given how much Roomba stagnated even when Lidar Neatos were making premium bounce vacs look stupid a decade ago, not exactly filled with pity. Roomba are definitely going to have a devils own job concocting features to justify a premium over comparable robovacs now. Our Roborock S5 is still going strong after 5 years, so have faith the S8 pro will hold up even with all the features. Their build quality has always been top shelf.

Pretty surprised you didnt cover the Yarbo modular robot! Saw it for a second in one of your clips but man, i can't wait to see a review of that somewhere. Having snow blower, leaf blower and lawn mower all in one machine is amazing. Especially with its navigation system. All existing lawn robots use the dumb navigation of previous generation of robot vacuums where they just bounce around everywhere. super looking forward to upgrading my lawn mower.

oh man these roborocks are so exciting, I felt like the gold standard for a long time was the roombas but I really think roborock has leaped them in every single way now. If those prices can just drop a bit more then I would absolutely grab one but $1500 is a lot of money even though I understand its doing a whole lot of stuff.

Wow, the new Roborock has a lot of nice updates. And having used many other brands in real-life circumstances, I can say that, for me, Roborock has performed the best by a country mile. The silent mopping mode would be great. A loud suction motor can be most annoying at times.

It’s about time iRobots patent ran out. I love my i3+ and roombas in general since I have a dog and carpet deep cleaning is important to me, but I’ve always wished roombas had more power. Maybe this will finally force them to improve their power and suction since the competition can now add a second brush.

Heard that the S8 frontmounted camera only sees in black and white while S7 sees in color. Seen reports of people owning the ecovacs X1 omni getting their robot destroyed by the heat when drying the mop pads, might be something to consider with the Roborock S8 pro ultra.

Honestly between their lies about that fiasco, their lies about the mediocre 3D printer, and various other lies overpromising on other pieces of equipment they've sold, Anker has long since earned a reputation as a company to not trust. It's amazing that people still buy their products.

i wish they made a deep clean smart robot vacuum that can spray the carpet with a cleaning solution/foam (and maybe have a brush that can work that into the carpet), let it do its magic for 30 minutes and then suck out the solution together with dirt out of the carpet. I know the main issue is low suction power of battery powered vacuums, but surely there is a way, maybe it could have a smart electric cord with which it can drive around the room without entanglement, or instead of lithium ion batteries it could have those modern fast charge fast discharge capacitors that can fully charge themselves in seconds and then provide high wattage for a few minutes.

Very excited for the new s8 pro ultra, seems to be very new revolution of vacuum robot. The only point that don’t convince me a lot is the battery that since s5 is the same for all the robot. One battery with 5200mah that allow me to cover all my 90m2 of house in max power but I don’t think it will possible with all this sensor installated. Years ago I buy the s6 maxV and I notice that the camera take a lot of buttery to make this analysis. I think next stage for the roborock will be one bigger battery.

My kitchen ceramic tile is textured like stamped concrete and it is harder than hell to clean because grime sticks in those nooks and crannies. My steam mop doesn't make a dent. I'm debating between getting an electric scrub mop or the O-Cedar spin mop because no doubt I'll need to use bleach in whatever I purchase. What do you recommend??

The Ecovacs T9 Aivi is the first robot (excluding iRobot) that uses a dual brush design. Unfortunately it hasn't been reviewed by vacuum wars :(

why not officially release the auto water fill/drain tank for the s8? i currently have it for the s7 (ordered from aliexpress, its 220V only). and THATS a real gamechanger. never have to think about filling water or disposing of dirty smelly water. thats what i call a true autonomous robot.

A UV-C light to sterilize instead of a dryer would've been more economical and efficient. Base stations still need to be air purifiers at this point.

UV-C treatment can be done with germicidal lamps (the leds you see around in new products are worthless, so you need a tube) and it only treats the surface. Plus you would need to change the germicidal lamp quite a lot. So it would not be much of use with damp rollers.

Hey, I just had an idea that we should give some of our old broken robot vacuums to tech repair youtubers to let them make a restoration video. I like to see them fix a robot vacuum because it's so hard to find anyone fixing it on youtube. It doesn't make any sense of you showcasing awesome robot vacuums when nobody knows how to fix it, my money is wasted.

I got the S7 maxv and found the spring holding the bumper to be very weak. It constantly had the error saying “bumper stuck” and was basically bricked within two weeks of use. It appears that this is a very common issue based on internet searches. Is the S8 fixing this weak bumper spring?

Hi guys, I'm interested in buying a robot vacuum, and watched your Roomba s9+, I7+ and Shark IQ SE reviews, but then noticed how old they are. It seems Shark don't sell robo vacs in the UK anymore, but also the model you reviewed is outdated now anyway. Do you have any more recent reviews of the higher end robo vacs? I don't want a mop vac, and don't fancy spending roborock money, just want to know what's the best bang for your buck now. Cheers.

I'm still waiting for user-controlled object recognition where I can say, "Don't go over that rug that you'll get caught on". No-go zones are great, but they don't track minor movements in area rugs and other things that get moved.

@@davidcardenasus 1) your first sentence just proves that Eufy lied about "Local only", there's no argument you can make to disprove that. 2) They were encrypted but it was actually shown that you can brute force access to those images and URLs. 3) Holding personal pictures in the cloud for 48 hours is 48 hours too long and goes against their marketing of "local storage". 4) Yes they said they were going to make changes but it doesn't deny the fact that they lied, and when confronted with the facts they simply denied it and called everyone wrong like you're doing here. "Please educate yourself more on the topic" - David (who is not educated on said topic)

I wanted the Roborock S7 Ultra but it's almost impossible to find in the UK. Then my Deebot T8 TruDetect broke after 13 months. So I ended up buying a Shellbot SL60. It has obstacle avoidance that's much better than the Deebot as it uses a camera and structured light. It was only £180 and is much more powerful at 4000PA. I couldn't believe how much more crap it picked up compared to the Deebot (which is an absolutely shite robot) I still think Roborock is the best brand robot I've ever had and if I could afford the new S8 and could actually find it in the UK I'd choose no other robot.

Hey mate, any thought on when LG will bring out a new body design? Seems like they've been on the current body design and shape for years now, and are becoming increasingly losing ground to Samsung and Dyson. Surely a larger canister and better design must be coming soon

I would hope IRobot would extend the patent on the dual brush roll design, or make a more powerful motor to enhance the already exceptional deep cleaning performance.

It does. I got two s3 one for my mom for me for myself and they are giving us a LOT of issues - most of which is the charging and battery. I went down to the service center multiple times. Will never buy any tineco product EVER again! But I’m so far very satisfied with my roborock s7 ultra.
