A year after this interview, Cesar Chavez died in Arizona, his home state. However his cause, la causa continues. Si se puede. Yes, it can be done.

Do you know what tribe his decendants were from? I know he was from Arizona, close to a place in Sonora Mexico called Cananea. My grandma was from there decendant of the Pima tribe, but I know the Pimas go all the way to Arizona too.

Cesar is against illegal immigration mainly due to them accepting lower wage jobs which hurts his movement.

That is inaccurate. Cesar Chavez was one the earliest supporters of immigration reform and cared for a work force of undocumented immigrants.

@@805fillmore his heritage is still Mexican. Maybe there was hate going on at that time between Mexican and Mexican Americans (Chicanos). Mexicans calling Mexican Americans plastic or fake. And referring to them as Chicanos too as derogatory. But Mexican Americans embraced that word and flipped it. I'm Chicano

@@noskpain2792 its true 100%....u need to study the history of cesar chavez....l dont consider him a hero for immigrants....though it was a hard choice that he had to be cruel with la raza, he had to act that way in order to get rights for the farm "legal" workers...those were really hard times
@noskpain2792 Жыл бұрын
@@rangerchido669 Chavez knew why illegal aliens were bad for his cause because they were brought in to be used as strike breakers and replace the Chicanos in the Southwest for a lower price. Illegal aliens didn't care they screw people of Mexican descent because the price they were paid was better than what Mexico had to offer. Chavez fought for legal immigrants not ones that big business used for open borders. He would say how checkpoints would be not manned.

Cesar Chavez was an awesome person fighting for the Rights of Legal Immigrants, and Legal Mexican Citizens in the USA. Most people who even honor him don't really know what he actually stood for and fought for. Many schools across the country bear his name as he is looked upon by many Mexicans as a Hero and he was. But they don't fully understand his exact cause thinking he was like a Mexican Revolutionist. No True. He actually had a real distain for Illegal Immigration and fought against even against the government for not doing their job to stop it. The same problem we have today.
