In 2023, I finally earned my charter after four years of dedication. However, I'm extremely disappointed and angry with CFAI for the quality of content and readings provided by them. The lack of political neutrality and inaccuracies in the materials have shocked me. Margaret Franklin's leadership is questionable, and she risks diminishing the value of the charter many of us worked hard to achieve.

Political neutrality? Example?

@pejpm pure academic content my friend. Mathematical formulas and proven finance concepts. The CFA is not a political or social think tank so it doesn't need to stray into that space. This seriously impairs the credibility of CFAI. The two new pathways need to be completely re-written, it isn't just something that can be "polished over time". The argument for pursuing the charter has always been the quality of the education you receive. Unfortunately, these changes seriously impair that. This is the worst thing the institute has ever done and its not even close

@dojimaryotaro6563Ай бұрын
The U.S. being removed from all charts is just unreal. This is what they raised the exam fees for? Note how the old CFA readings all had the authors listed. I'm honestly getting a little annoyed by how much the CFAI is covering its buttocks at the cost of the candidates. Errors everywhere in the curriculum--sometimes so blatant that even an unprepared candidate cannot miss them, authors not cited so we don't even know if the person writing this has any idea what they're talking about, no visibility into the contents of the exams and how they are graded to the point that there is a section in Ethics concerning how any discussion of past exam contents will get you kicked out. CFAI: Clumsy Fallacy Administrators Institute. Eroding trust one exam season at a time.

I would be very reluctant to hire a money manager that earned their charter in 2025 especially since the designation does not reflect the specialization path. I would be terrified to get someone that when down the Private Wealth pathway and find out that they actually bought into that content. I also think that in hiding the specialization it also means they don't believe in it themselves. quote From CFAI website Q: "Will the CFA charter reflect the specialized path an individual earns? A: No, there will be no distinction made on the charter itself.

Dr Meldrum - I used your course to pass Level I and Level II in 2021. I left the financial industry shortly after to pursue a unique opportunity and thus never sat or studied for Level III. For these reasons I haven't kept up much with the changes in the program or with any of the discourse surrounding the program. I'm considering re-arming to study for the exam and achieve the charter, as I would like to have an easier time being able to re-enter the industry if I want to return, and for the fact that I started this mission and left it unfinished while being so close to the end. I was wondering if you had any advice for someone who is coming back to Level III after not engaging with any CFA content since 2021. I was also wondering if your opinion on the value of getting the charter has changed at all over the past few years.

I don't want to go through all the same content again. What should I do, sir? Should I wait another 2-3 years for better quality reading materials or should I pursue the private market regardless or stick with traditional level 3 content
