🤶🏻Why does society encourage us to wear EXHAUSTION as a badge of honour?!? 🧛‍♀️🧛‍♂️🧛🏼🧛‍♂️How can WE change this mentality- so that women can stop bragging about how little sleep/ food they are running on?🧟‍♀️🧟🧟‍♂️ I tried for years to explain to my Dr that I was waking up depleted. That I was fading and so very tired of being so easily TIRED!? Menopause just didn’t cover the extent of IT. Learning to control what I can and accomplish & improve on what I can manage daily. It is not as easy to recharge our internal batteries for whatever the reasons. 🙏🏼. Thankful to have this forum for inspirational models. Stay as hydrated/ happy/ healthy as you can everyone!⛄️

Some excellent points in this interview. We basically drive ourselves into the ground and think its normal, even honorable. I must have heard people tell me to have better boundaries a hundred times, but if you were never taught what that really means and how to execute that its almost impossible to create stronger boundaries. Esp if your environment 'needs' you to have weak boundaries because that may mean you have to put in extra work to enforce them or make dramatic changes to your life. Like a different job, friends, ect, who will respect you. Even better support you!! The emotional fallout can be pretty severe from dissapointed friends and family to angry toxic partners or coworkers who will then emotionally manipulate you to stay weak for thier gain. Exactly what a sick exhausted person can't handle managing, dealing with that kind of pushback turns to migraines and duress and further crashing. Recovery becomes a total reset. You 100% have to put yourself first and let the cards fall where they lay otherwise. Its the ultimate surrender. Physically, emotionally, mentally, everything. I feel so, so lucky to have found CFS Health and become part of the Mentorship Program. There is no other place that supports and demonstrates healthy recovery hitting all the bases. Each of our stories is different but the core of recovery is the same: buidling a life of self respect and sustainability, where your no longer hurting yourself. We are becoming the examples for others. I personally hope to see a massive social shift where we stop abusing ourselves, stop expecting that of eachother, and learn that our lives can be much more simple and fulfilling. 💜

Charlie, thanks for sharing! It is so encouraging to hear your story and the point you make about it actually helps your family to seeing you practicing what you preach so to speak. I don’t want my girls doing what I did- helping everyone all the time! So good! 😊

By far the best recovery story i've listened to, thanks to you both! this will for sure help me subconsciously on my road to recovery, knowing that someone else has done it. The lady is definitely right, there isn't enough positivity online or someone saying 'you will recover' to actually help yourself get better, think I've successfully rewired my brain so far! 🤣

I am in tears ….this video describes myself just abit too well….letting go of the guilt….the shame….my being not good enough…being a failure…just being there for others and not care about myself….

Excellent 👌 Resonated so much .. Work- x nurse, pushing to keep going ,high self expectations, low self belief, not thinking my CFS is that bad comparing to others. Feeling guilty that CFS is affecting others in family , putting others first. I feel very lonely - Charlie you gave me hope .Thanks.

Boy can I relate to that part she speaks of regarding giving so much of myself even if I feel unwell. I wonder if that is why I am not progressing the way I expected too. Thanks Charlie & Toby. ~Dee

I totally relate to her story. The brain fog, the cognitive non-event & total disinterest in everything was my journey too. I was agrophobic and had dozens of panic attacks every day. It was super scary.

Charlie, I have just watched this video and relate COMPLETELY to you and your symptoms. I feel that I may have gone through the worst phase of my CFS and now slowly working my way through to the other side, although I struggle with debilitating fatigue pretty much every single day. Having given up my job this year I can now allow myself time to stop and rest when I need to, but also having a horse (funnily enough, I actually used to ride past your house most days!!! Small world!) means that I still have to get on with physical things every day, even when I feel really drained. How fabulous that you've recovered 😀 So pleased for you.
