Kevin, thank you! This was perhaps the clearest explanation and interpretation of the COT I've seen yet. Very appreciated. Your insight on discerning the shift in market bias early was exciting. These are the elephants that move the market, so it makes sense that we can learn to spot their footprints. I look forward to seeing more video content from you. You have a pleasant manner of delivery and a clear way of imparting the concepts. The Commercial banks have to provide liquidity so they will always match the end of the trades (as well as trying to get out of any bad trades). So most volume/s are actually insurance bets (options/futures). The clients are protecting themselves from future uncertainty. So by hedging against themselves they are actually protecting themselves from price swings, which explains why the commercials and non commercials are always opposite on tables/graphs. 😁

@@xaviercomelli In a simplistic way to have a market 1 has to be Long and the other Short. And the client needs a Broker. And the Broker need a Market (Volume/liqudity....whatever you want to call it).

Wow this is exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks for your work sir. I am currently learning how to do this kind of work in Excel so I can lay up the data from CoT and take conclusion from that and apply it to my technical analysis. And of course I also need to have a better interpretation of CoT report. I guess it takes time and practice. Thank you!

This was the most awesome piece of trading idea/video i came across since practising to trade for the last 8 years and trying to find a tool to at least offer some confidence when executing a trade in the direction of the 'smart money' rather just solely relying on charts and news sources. First, a very BIG THANK YOU. Your time and patience putting together these data and transforming it into a goldmine of information...it’s still teaching us about the markets more than 2yrs after. Thank you. The only issue I had was with the music. It’s too soothing. It was dampening my excitement, time and again. At a point I was getting too relaxed, it became hard to focus on your words. When learning, it’s always good to get adrenaline moving in cycles. It helps the student gather focus on cycles...lol almost like price action.

The reason you give for switching the longs and shorts for the CAD is because the USD comes first, before the CAD, in the forex pairing, which makes it an exception. This is confusing, as the CHF and the JPY also follow the USD in forex pairings.

I'm a bit curious about your calculation for the total difference in net profit. What if the Non- commercials are Net short -38 on an asset and the commercials are net short -1960... how would I get the total difference for the net positions?????

I understand why you switched the non commercial stats around, if you look at the chart, the forex chart compared to the futures chart is the inverse. So that is why you switch them around, I just don't get the part where you add the positive (54,330) to the negative (-60,123) and get a positive number

Hi I use it for currencies as well. You just have to switch the data for all pairs starting with USD -> usd/***
