Thanks for the info. I'm considering CGC for my PC. Being in the US I would hope I wouldn't run into shipping issues. The fact that they communicated with you gives me confidence. I like their slabs ans labels

They have the best guarantee for someone who submits PC. PSA explicitly state their guarantee doesn’t apply to you if you’re the submitter

I remember that it was dub in Canada then when dvd came out some of the translation was different.

@@DanTheCardMan2 in my storage back in San Diego CA. I remember Namek was pronounced different from VHS to dvd. It's been 20 plus years since I watch them. 😅

I saw the dirt inside on the one card with the chips at the top that I looked up on the website. I’m surprised that got thru QA/QC.

The slabs had a lot of dirt outside the case, perhaps that's what you can see on the scan. The Ramires Top of the Class has something inside the slab but over the patch window. Annoying!

How do the thick cgc slabs feel? I only have pokemon cards in cgc slabs.

They feel very similar and good in hand. The really thick ones don't feel as nice in hand but that might be because of the extra weight, not sure.

A few minor tweaks will go a long way. Huge fan of the guarantee and will be using CGC again. The dust inside the slab and horizontal cards facing the same way are quick wins. The comms piece needs a bit more work but the HK office was fantastic, they deserve the positive feedback.

It would be incredibly fustrating having those 2 extra shipping steps. But it seems CGC was pretty decent with their communication and willingness to work with you to fix the issue!

Dan - great video. Let me just say, you’re probably the only dude on the face of the earth that would say “take a look at my overgraded card”. Frankly, as a whole that is probably why cgc sells at a discount to the others. I remember your video saying why you had no choice but to submit to cgc. At any rate, think you’re a good dude (or bloke ha)

Appreciate it. The grades don’t really matter to me, but I want them to be accurate. These cards sell themselves so a lower grade shouldn’t impact them. Not that value was a deciding factor for me, I just want it to be accurate

I am as OCD as it comes but I think they were slabbed like that because of the back of the card. The ones going in the direction with the label on the right is the "normal" way the grading companies do it but if they did that with the ones they put the label on the left then the back of the card would be upside down. I think this should be more a complaint about Panini's design than CGC's slabbing.

The Vieri has a bent top left corner on the back that's WHT its a 8.5

It has 3 or 4 dents in the top edge. 8.5 is way too high.

I'm glad you didn't throw your "I'm an influencer" line to them. I review restaurants and I don't expect special favors when getting my food because I want to be able to give a true review. That said... When you have expensive items going around the world and back, I wouldn't have blamed you if you disclosed that you run a hobby channel late in the process. No one wants to potentially lose their cards. At some point it becomes whatever I can do to get my cards back which I understand.

They may have known it was me given the email but I certainly didn't flex it and I didn't get the feeling that I was getting special treatment. Their HK staff were amazing. It caught me off guard given how customer service usually goes for this industry.

I hate that it is such a mystery as to why the grades are given. Thats why I like fcg. There is no mystery.

I think CGC will offer notes in the future. They do it for comics so it only makes sense for them to do it for cards too

@@DanTheCardMan2 Collectors _don't_ want to understand why their cards get graded that way?? That's nuts... no wonder there's so many dodgy actors in the hobby right now creating a market bubble... it's no better than 17th century tulips (I'm guessing an auditor will know the reference, LOL). I can't think of another industry where collectors (buyers or sellers) _don't_ want to understand how the collectable was rated/valued.... especially one where grading is so readily standardised. That's a barrier-to-entry for a lot of potential new collectors right there, while being open season for fraudsters! smh

I like CGC slabs better but the tag ones fee quite close

The slabs are the best just wish they would offer subgrades and the original green label as an option. I just hate the basic look of their current label and not having subgrades makes it a container to use PSA for the resale value if they’re not offering a better service to the hobby,imo.😊
