Sometimes the geometry if your meshes will limit the boolean efficiency.

Nicely done. Thanks. Sometimes I like to watch tutorials on things I already have played with giving me a fresh visual reminder. One of the things I really liked here was the intercutting of simple but cool fully realized examples as you began each section.

*edit* for the mirror modifier *edit* you missed the "Clipping" option. that locks the datum together so you don't have to worry about the merge limit.

The "clipping' issue when the cutters and the subject were too close for blender to calculate.
