Because animating a walk/run cycle is quite complicated as it implies body mechanics. The animator who did this hasn't probably mastered it yet, considering the overall quality of animation :)

Well done to the four students for completing and publishing this piece. This serious animation turned comedy is interesting and effective with reference to story and graphics.
