This Showreel has selected examples of visual effects work between years 2007-2012, which includes shots from Wrath of the Titans, Lars von Triers Melancholia, TV advertisements as well as some personal work. I really love watching stuff like this right before I do some visual FX work. It gives me an idea of what the powerhouses in the industry are doing. That Adevale 3313 film looks really promising and I hope Jakub finishes it. Watching that REALLY inspired me to crank out some of my own science fiction work.

You just have to keep at it, man! I don't think my VFX is all that great, either, but I learn something new every time I do a video. Just look at my first few videos on my channel and then the ones I'm doing now. If you keep it up, you'll get to where this video is! It just takes patience and, most importantly, practice!

well heres the thing, although it has to do with your computer, it also has to do with the software. first and foremost krakatoa works different from c4d with it's particles. If you get the chance, get your hands on a trial of 3ds max with a trial of krakatoa and lookup some tutorials. Krakatoa gives you a huge amount of possibilities.

Hmm, It also depends on specs. My computer can handle up to 500million particles when using RealFlow with Cinema 4D

definately krakatoa, c4d can't handle that amout of particles. Maybe even with maya and its particle system which is even more powerfull than krakatoa.
