IT'S GARGOYLE'S QUEST. Just with more bombs. So it's Bomberman and Gargoyle's Quest. But there's a submarine too. So it's any part of Mega Man 3 with the Rush Marine, and Bomberman (or maybe just Mega Man 1) and Gargoyle's Quest. But it's got Tails in it. Oh, heck, let's just call it Tails Adventures (but DENY him that apostrophe) and put it on the Game Gear of all things. And y'know what? They did. And they lived happily ever after, with explosions and submarines.

Thats some mighty good graphics for a Game Gear game, almost on par with the MegaDrive/Genesis

Good review. The sole reason why I owned a Game Gear back in the day. This was quite an addicting and refreshing game. Probably the most unique game in the Sonic franchise. Really needs a sequel or a revival of some sort.

That's exactly how I first approached this game, I "expected it to be a Sonic game" when it really wasn't. But now, looking at the rest of this game and hearing this insightful review, I think I'm willing to give Sonic's orange two-tailed sidekick another shot!...ON SONIC GEMS, BABY!

Tails also had a side scrolling shooter released in japan, only on the game gear. it's also on Gems collection I think

I want this game so bad! I wish I could get it! It's certainly one of the most fun games the GG ever got (along with Shinobi and Power Strike 2).

Alright TJ! Good review. I've never really read too deep in to Game Gear but this looks like it still holds up today. Would be pretty legit back in the day too. Hows that crushing old school difficulty working?

The minute I saw this I was all: "oh no, not the bombs!" but this seems pretty good. I do love me some Gargoyle's Quest so if I ever get a 3DS or the Sonic Gems collection, I'll make sure I play it.

For sure. I remember buying this game, then immediately trading it because it was nothing like Sonic. This review is starting to make me regret that decision.

Nice to hear a positive review of this awesome game for a change-the first one Ive ever seen! Even as far back as when it was originaly released the reviews in the gaming magazines of the time universaly slated Tails Adventure which put me off the idea of buying it, Only in recent years did I get a chance to play it on Gems Collection & realised that I missed out on a great game & that the vast majority of video games critics were as full as shit back then as (most) are nowadays.-Nice review!

It's Tails Sky Patrol. I wouldn't call it a shooter though. It's one weird ass game, that's for sure.
