Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist lama, one of the greatest teachers of Dzogchen. In the 1970s, he became Abbot of the Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal to promote Buddhist studies and make teachings accessible also to interested western practitioners. In the 1980s he established the Rangjung Yeshe Institute for Buddhist Studies (RYI) and Rangjung Yeshe Publications in order that students can earn degrees and study texts on Tibetan Buddhism. He travels the world extensively to dharma centers and universities to beings the joys and wisdom of the Buddhist teachings. When at home in Nepal, he is devoted to the spiritual and welfare needs of the local Tibetan and Nepalese population.
