A walkthrough/playthrough of the Japanese version of "SUPER GODZILLA" (超ゴジラ), for the Super Famicom.
02:19 -- King Ghidorah battle
11:06 -- Mechagodzilla 2 battle
28:12 -- Biollante battle
46:07 -- Battra Imago battle
58:45 -- Battra Larva
1:05:07 -- Mecha-King Ghidorah battle (as Godzilla)
1:16:00 -- SUPER GODZILLA transformation
1:23:09 -- Super Godzilla VS. Bagan
Differences between the Japanese and English version of the games include:
* Different opening/title screen
* Mechagodzilla 2 instead of the Showa Mechagodzilla
* The totaling of the scores pauses briefly, both before and after you receive game credit(s), for completing the level
* Super Godzilla has a crest on his head; this was removed from the English version (Super Godzilla ended up being the base design for SpaceGodzilla later, hence the physical similarities)
* Bagan only has 2 "damage" sprites when hit by powerful Godzilla/Super Godzilla attacks

I think the combat system was a unique concept which wasn't explained or executed as well as it could have been. A modern remake could polish it, offer a better tutorial, a maybe even more monsters and different playable characters such as Mothra or Kong.

Agreed! This is one of those games where you're supposed to read the manual that comes with it (includes story-relevant points), but a tutorial's pretty much essential if it were to ever be remade in the modern day.

@@SuperGodzillaGaming I also sometimes think about the game from Godzilla's perspective. Imagine going to sleep in the ocean one night, then waking up in the middle of Nagatacho covered in cuts and bruises and standing over the corpse of a giant demon.

@@dylanattix2765 According to the manual, Godzilla is very much aware of his situation. In fact, the reason stages are on a timer is because of his incredible fighting spirit - once the time runs out, it's actually his fighting spirit overwhelming the control box and destroying it, freeing him from human control. His most powerful breath attack is also referred to as an "abnormality," a side effect of his high fighting spirit battling human control.

I think they made mecha king ghidorah to weak the triple beam only does 100 the strongest attack which does 150 to 180 it rarely uses he can on.y do 70 damage max on super Godzilla is power damage wise is reduced down by more than half" it's like they intend you to fight as normal Godzilla.

When your fighting a enemy monster the question mark attack .. is that a random attack from all your moves and is there a special attack you can only get with the question mark move. Also in the description/notes you have mechagodzilla 2 instead of mechagodzilla showa? Whats showa or is that a typo? Thank you I enjoyed this video alot you did a great job

Correct! The Random "?" Attack will randomly choose any move. There are no secret moves in the Random Attack button, though. Also, Showa Mechagodzilla refers to the 1974/1975 version of MG from the old films, the one that fought King Caesar and paired with Titanosaurus (the Showa era). Thanks! (=

I have a code for that, I put it together myself. I can give it to you, but I'm unsure if it'll work for the Japanese version. Its also buggy, because most of the monsters were only coded to be effected by regular Godzilla's attacks.

When your walking around map mode I guess what determines how far ypu can go before jt says godzilla is too far away he will lose control turning arpund now? And what does the number under enemy mean on map mode also

It's a different mecha godzilla in this one it's the one that g4 made after mecha ghiodorah was beaten. The original was controlled by space monekies. I think the versus mecha godzilla reboot there were problems with so the us released changed it to the original evil mecha godzilla.

I always usually do mecha king ghidorah as normal Godzilla the s points our inconvient to get and take for ever to reach plus you can beat mecha king ghidorah still with normal Godzilla. Also mecha king ghidorah attacks stats drop so drastically on super Godzilla you would think he weighed double in muscle what he weigh which is 80 tons MGM is 88. Bagan despite his 350 percent higher muscle match came be insanely easy if you respond quickly enough I saw some one defeat him in 5 minutes and take virtually no damage.

Adding Showa Era MG into the game made way more sense than Super MG. Heck Super MG doesn't even have the right voice clips. Well his movie hadn't come out yet so meh.

There was an interview with the producer of this game recently, he mentioned that Showa MG was super popular overseas, which is why they swapped out Heisei MG for him in the English release. Likewise, all they had for Heisei MG was his design, they didn't even know its attacks, so they had to ask special effects director Koichi Kawakita what sort of moves Heisei MG would use.

Mechagodzilla 2's movie was new in Japan, but the USA had not had it localized in English yet, so they went with the older Mechagodzilla since it was a familiar design

Probably because by the time the game was localized, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla was being released, so Toho didn't want to cause confusion with SpaceGodzilla when that movie was released overseas

Lalo Vasquez The Heisei Mechagodzilla is exclusive to the Japanese edition of Super Godzilla; in the US version, it's the Showa Mechagodzilla.

Ugh, I HATE fighting Biollante in this game. She always gives me such a hard time. Stupid body slam counters. I swear, I punch her, and ALL it gives me for attacks is body slams! I just wish there was a code to play as Super Godzilla for the whole game. THAT'D be awesome.

Yes, he's part of the Godzilla franchise. Bagan was considered for many movies but never appeared, but they were able to make him the final boss of this game.
