Man I remember in my elementary school days when I first found this song I thought Miku was actually frickin' dead. Like straight up they stopped making Miku songs and this was their way of letting us know. Who's "they" you ask? The Miku people.

Fun Fact; This is probably based off of a real event. Back when Miku was first gaming popularity, One day she just completely disappeared off of the internet, No one could find any trace of her anywhere. It was later confirmed that due to the amazingly large amount of people searching up Hatsune Miku, Google (i think) completely removed her as a search result because they believed it to be a widespread scam. Some people actually still do refer to this event as, “The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku” Edit: Apparently it happened with her songs too. You would get an error message saying “An irreversible error has occurred”

I think no one understands that this song is based off a real event. "The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku" happened after Miku got really popular. Some Japanese news stations said that Miku fans were "lifeless, unemployed otakus" and that Miku shouldn't be popular. About a week after, by coincidence, Miku could not be found on the Internet; her Wikipedia page was deleted, and she couldn't be found on Japan Google/Yahoo/any search engine. Fans were outraged. Then, because of this, our beloved Neru was made. Anyways, Miku was found again (Yay!). Japan Google, Yahoo, and Wikipedia said they had nothing to do with this disappearance. Then, a producer got inspired to create this. The plot to the song is that people are forgetting her and deleting her. So fans who took their time to read this, I hope this helps. Miku won't be going for a long time.

It's not her crush. In the lyrics it says 'master' or the user. It's a commentary on when vocaloid was first becoming popular and the users would often use vocaloid for just covers other than creating their own songs. The song is about how Miku was afraid that she'd fade away as 'just a toy' and how her master would subsequently delete her. I remember it too. Those were really awkward times. Most people didn't quite know what to do with vocaloid at first, and it shows in the songs.

According to its novel written by the creator of the song, she was forced to be uninstalled by the professor and a bunch of men. But, the guy (Asano)who is assigned to have a field test to Miku along with his friends (Juhachi and Aika), are protecting her from them. When Miku is about to disappear, Asano and Miku finally confessed their love for each other. Until when Miku disappeared to pieces, leaving the rest (except for Asano and his sister) forgetting about her and the events that happened and her SD card to Asano. Not knowing, she created a farewell song for him which is this song and became popular to the whole country.

The story is that the programmer of her is uninstalling her so she is trapped in virtual computer chains and as she is being uninstalled she recalls memories of he programmer "teaching " her how to sing and remembers her friends the other Vocaloids and her programmer leaves knowing that his work is done and now her programming is failing (probably because of virus old age or glitches) and the programmer notices and uninstalls because Miku is singing is worse and Miku in final moments wants to "die" because she is failing her creator and the regrets it.😢

the song is telling that miku's master creater is turning off miku and miku thought her creater was nice and will be friends forever but he made more vocaloid characters and miku is upset and wants to keep singing but is left in her mirror or something and wants to be out
