Hello, English comment here. From what I can gather, the song is from the guy's point of view. A playwrite that this boy is in gives him the role of the "bad guy", which automatically puts him at odds against everyone else, including the girl (who might or might not be his lover, or best friend; I can only infer that this person is someone important to him). It's not like he wants to hurt anyone, but can't be a half-hearted actor either, and "no pain no gain". His role and actions were already scripted for him, so he can't refute them anyway. So he threw away his conflicting emotions. But towards the end when the girl takes his hand, his true desire in that moment is to be taken out of that scenario to somewhere far away. As he leaves the stage, not looking back, he doesn't want to see the girl's face for a second time, and he wonders if he actually did become the "bad guy". I am seeing some subtext for some deeper themes here.

I think the boy was being forced to kill the girl so he went to be close with the girl (or they already knew each other before he was tasked to do that) and by darkness enveloped the stage, I think it means that he tried to escape with the girl secretly but he almost stabs the girl and he remembers his task. For the girl to live, he walks away. I think what he meant if he became terrible enough is for the girl not to come to him anymore so the feelings wont grow or it might be because he doesnt want to do more terrible things, but in the end the girl catches up to him. Just a theory passing by.

Aine Hasumi I feel that Japanese songs are easier to write because u simply think of melody and add in suitable word according to the syllabus and rhythm; for English I feel that when u make lyrics u get melody from it and fitting English syllabus into any rhythm feels abit hard.So I feel that lyrics are easier to write from the chorus then the verses. But great comment Aine Hasumi
I think that what the MV means is this: the main guy is (maybe?) in a relationship with the main girl (Miku) but he soon doubts this because of the fact that he is the villain in the play (or in reality, a guy who is disliked by many) and then another guy comes into the picture (the unknown guy who is always there for Miku in the play) and soon tries to get away from Miku because he thinks she'll love the other man when the time comes. But the girl thinks otherwise and is maybe confused at why the main guy is acting this way, so, to snap him back to his senses, as the play ends, she kisses him to snap him back to reality. there, I tried huhu
