It should never be immediate, ever! Randall Dale Adams spent years on death row for a murder he didn't commit. He came within 48 hours of being executed before the Supreme Court intervened and ordered a second trial. The second time he got a no nonsense judge and the guy that actually commited the murder told the truth. The death sentence should never be immediate!

Lori refused to waive her right to a speedy trial which left the prosecution scrambling to get all of the evidence together. The prosecution failed to get the discovery handed over to the defense by the deadline which led Judge Boyce to take the DP off the table as a way to admonish the prosecution.

@saythankyou111 no he won't. People on death row don't get the same privileges as those serving life sentence. Chad will be in his cell 23 hours a day, whereas those with life sentences get stay out of their cell longer, as they get to have jobs or have schooling. None of those things are offered to death row inmates. They just Rot in a cell until its their time to die.

He could be on death row 50 years, like the following inmate: Thomas Eugene Creech (born September 9, 1950) is an American serial killer who was convicted of two murders committed in 1974 and sentenced to death in Idaho. As of 2024, Creech was the longest-serving death row inmate in the state. His execution, scheduled for February 28, 2024, resulted in a failed attempt and was cancelled. He remains on death row.
