A “20/20” special examines his career, from playing Jackie Robinson, Thurgood Marshall, to T’Challa in “Black Panther.” His influence was felt far beyond Hollywood, all the way to the White House.

Everyone is echoing the same refrain-that he is irreplaceable not just as an actor, but a decent human being. How many actors would have these sentiments made about them were to suddenly and shockingly pass away as Chadwick Boseman did. His James Brown and Thurgood Marshall were indelible, unforgettable performances. God bless the wonderful memories of Chadwick Boseman, RIP in Jesus’ name, Amen. Hallelujah! True wakanda greeting from me to you, Chadwick! God bless you. Happy blessed rest in Christ to you, Brother.

It's hard to accept that Chadwick Boseman is gone. He truly was a real-life superhero. He brought grace, poise, commanding presence where he didn't have to raise his voice in all his roles. I even enjoyed the small performance towards the end of The Express about Ernie Davis where he shows how much of fan he is of Ernie Davis played by Rob Brown. What I loved about that scene was him being a fan since in real-life he was older than Rob Brown who played the titular character Ernie Davis. That itself says he is that good.

People criticized his looks in his pictures, thinking that he was getting "tired" of the fame of Black Panther; that he didn't want to be acknowledged for it anymore (or for his other works)...we were soooooooo wrong. He was fighting an inner fight; his personal struggle. The photos of him with those serious looks...I feel he was telling us his struggle, his story; without saying a word. He truly showed us what it meant to persevere in the midst of struggle. This really hurt; it still hurts...but he's left such a beautiful, profound effect on, and legacy to, all of us. God keep him in your graces and show him his throne in heaven highly exalted in power. I cried when I saw Black Panther for the first time and every time each for a different reason. I cried for the characters stories beautifully written. I cried because being a little mixed girl in DC in the 80s and knowing my history I saw in this film that what if.. what if Africa wasn’t raped and pillaged what if it was spared that colonial conquest and allowed to manifest its own destiny, what if it’s people were spared the horrible diaspora...what if?? It was a sorrowful melancholy that I wish I knew more words to express how my heart feels. I just stop teaching preschool because I want to do something else. I taught for 24 years. All I know is I only knew of you because of “The Black Panther” movie but today I honor you and your presence will be missed. I’m 58 years old now... I’ve lost a son to alcoholism... I so want to honor who you were and I wish I knew you sooner. Gods wings cover you and my son together now. You’ve given me a gift. It’s called “ courage”. May god bless your family! Until we meet..... Lisa Strange ❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

His hearty genuine laugh always made me smile. I just can't stop weeping 😭😭😭😭. He was simply an exceptional human being. He was the personification of grace. I feel as if I've lost a favourite brother of mine. I take comfort in the fact wherever he is now, he feels no pain. Rest in peace, brother...

Here I am, someone who is really no longer a contributing member of society (I have an autoimmune disease). I have no family or anyone that loves me. It just feels wrong for Chadwick to have been taken away when I’m literally depressed and have no life. May you rest in heavenly paradise, you and your contributions to the world will be missed. 🙏🏾💔🙏🏾

Im heart broken 💔, but more than that i am honored to have lived to see the only one man to bring life not only to a childs fantasy but to a nations pride. Aside from your movies sir, your pride and dignity shone through your eyes and your heart was felt world wide. I stand as i know others are, when i pray you rest in peace, grace and love. What an inspirational servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. His life on earth shows us we can have our personalities and be inspirational coz that's what Jesus teaches us. Too many ppl can't get the link. Jesus doesn't spoil ur life, He adds to it every beautiful thing that u want and much much much more. He made a decision to serve Christ and now lives forever with Christ. That's what the work of the Cross is about.

Come to think of it. I don't think any human could have done all what Chadwick did amid battling cancer with human strength or mere willpower. I believe God's spirit gave him all the strength needed to fulfill his purpose. It's simply unnatural humanly speaking to have done all that with stage 3/4 cancer. It hurts but in all I glorify God for his inspirational life.

I had to turn the video to keep from crying. I loved him from the first moment I saw him as “Jackie Robinson”...His dedication to his role spoke volumes, but I could tell that there was something more to him than being an actor. I loved him from the inside out. It’s unexplainable. He is an example of strength, integrity, and poise. Chadwick was so true to himself, and true to every character that he played. He got to know his characters, even the fictional characters well beyond the words in the script. He gave his characters life.....and now, may you have life abundantly with our God, the true King. Well done, Chadwick Boseman! What a good and faithful servant! You will always be my SUPER hero and my Guardian Angel! Much Love! Wakanda Forever! Forever 42! Long live the King! ❤️
