GSP trains with the Danaher Death Squad, THE Danaher Death Squad with guys like Gordon Ryan, Nicky Ryan etc John Danaher said GSP has tapped many big names in the Jiu Jitsu game. If Khabib does put GSP on the ground and on his back (which rarely ever happens) I can see GSP submitting Khabib on the ground.

so refreshing to hear. hate that this fight never took place but i do think you undersold the physical advantage. GSP with a size advantage and control advantage to this magnitude is not something we have seen before. I think with these two guys so similar in ability and skill...the stand up difference and the ability to be the bigger and stronger man in the clinch and on the ground gets GSP a decision victory. Just my 2 cents.

They're my top 2 fighters, I'd love to see the match. The most respectful build up to a fight ever. I would be happy for either guy, but I think gsp would make it look easy

First of all, I think The Eagle is one of the best in his weight class and on the top 10 of all time in THIS division. He is a world-class wrestler and a very dangerous mauler. So I am not a hater, I respect him. My few is, and I do not want to diminish his performance, that he arrived at the UFC with 16-0 (which is outstanding). He made mma pro fights but not in the champions league of mma. Then he had 5 fights, 3 of which he won only by decision (21-0). His first real test was Rafael dos Anjos (former LW champion). He could not finish him either and won by decision. Then he won another 4 fights and in the fourth the title (26-0). In my opinion, he had no real resistance in this run until this time, besides Rafael dos Anjos. The first time he encountered a real Legend was with Conor MG. And i have to say his performance was not impressive in my few. He won... but it left many question marks. First of all, don't blame me :D I am just saying what many fans are thinking. We saw a good Khabib and a bad Conor. And now something that the Khabibfans (and I don't say that I am a Conorfan) don't wanna hear but you have to admit that he dodged a rematch ever since. Even his trainer staff said that Conor was his greatest opponent. I have to admit that the fight against Dustin Poirier was impressive but not unexpected when it came to Khabibs tactic (takedown - maul - win). It is always hard to say who is better when you put a striker and a grappler in a fight no matter who wins. And the fight with Justin Gaethje was a total setup. It was like a lamp in front of a lion. So recap - Yes he is 28-0 but be honest with his stats and how many of them were in the UFC and how many of them were against UFC legends (2-3). And now ppl are come around and compare him against a REAL UFC living legend. A man who came to the UFC after only 5-0 (not 16-0) because he impressed with his style and his physic. GSP! Yes, he is not 28-0 - he is 26-2 but you have to admit that his career was a real all-time beauty. The 2 defeats made him human and gave him a fanbase for the ages. He fought legends like Matt Hughes, Matt Serra, Sean Sherk, Josh Koscheck, Jon Fitch, Thiago Alves, Dan Hardy, Carlos Condit, Nick Diaz just to name a few. He fought champion after champion and defended his UFC ww title 9 times. If you look up the list of UFC records he is so dominant it is amazing. He also took on opponents from other weight divisions like his legendary fights against BJ Penn and his last masterpiece against Michael Bisping. Yes, I also want to state out that he is leading in most decision wins and at the end of his carer there were also many question marks. In my opinion, the GSP in his prime would have destroyed Khabib. I don't see the real reasoning of the discussion GSP fighting Khabib now. GSP was gone a long time - came back for his last masterpiece and is now away for a long time as well. GSP has nothing to lose and Khabib everything. GSP is the WW goat and he is in my top 3 of the pfp goat. LAST WORD: GSP would still kick his ass :D

Something to consider. GSP has the most takedowns in UFC history. And the most time in top control in UFC history. And he's 4th all-time in takedown success rate. Also most control time in UFC history (not top control only). So you could make a solid argument backed up by facts that GSP is the best wrestler/grappler in MMA history Gleison Tibau is second all-time in UFC takedowns. And he's top 10 all-time in both takedown defense and control time in UFC history. When Khabib fought Gleison he failed to take him down even once despite attempting at least 5 times. In fact, Gleison took Khabib down twice (although Khabib scrambled quick and got back up before long). My point is GSP is superior to everyone at wrestling but Gleison is also one of the best in UFC history. And Georges is bigger than Gleison. And Khabib could not take down Gleison at all. Plus Georges striking is miles ahead of both Gleison and Khabib. So there's a good chance Khabib will not be able to take Georges down or he will get taken down himself. And really striking will decide the fight Edit: to be fair though Khabib was only 23/24 when he fought Gleison. He has gotten better, particularly at striking. And also Georges turns 40 in the Spring. So a prime Khabib versus an old GSP may go differently than a young Khabib versus a prime Gleison (and Khabib still "won" against Gleison. Some of you must be clueless when you say that Khabib can easily just manhandle GSP. DC, Khabib's own teammate, when asked about the GSP vs. Khabib matchup, admitted that it is a tough matchup for Khabib because as he said, "nobody just controls Georges". DC predicted it would be a 5-round back and forth war of attrition because GSP simply cannot be controlled on the ground like these lesser opponents. As Chael said, Bisping spoke to the legendary strength of GSP after the fight Chael himself mentioned training with GSP and was shocked by his superhuman physical strength (you can find this in one of his older videos on this channel) There are plenty of GSP training videos online where he simply cannot get taken down, even by guys who outweigh him by 50+ pounds (search GSP jiu jitsu training videos). He never loses the wrestling battle, but sometimes does get submitted by Jiu Jitsu world champions multiple weight classes above him (he has also submitted these guys as well) GSP has outwrestled every NCAA division 1 national champ he's ever faced, and he has faced a who's who of supreme wrestlers and grapplers. He has the best blast double leg in the history of the game. GSP's physical strength is the stuff of legend. But there are plenty of legends of Khabib's inhuman physical strength as well. The reality is that this is an extremely competitive fight, and I see it going a lot like Usman vs. Colby with neither guy going for the takedown since they respect the other's physical strength and wrestling ability too much.

I think that the possibility of a knockout or submission is always there for either fighter and if that doesn't happen I believe a fight would between these 2 would likely go 5 rounds. GSP would win on a decision. I would love to see this fight becasue Khabib is an amazing fighter and so is is GSP - let's make it happen!

This fight is bizarre for me. GSP is the better fighter imo, although khabib is on the one fighter I just can’t see losing. No matter to who. When looking at other undefeated fighters such as Adesenya, you can see ways that they can lose, however you don’t get that much with khabib.

That's actually a bit tough. Cuz Gsp is so well rounded so perfect in his fighting basically good everywhere in everything he does. If Gsp was able to keep khabib on the feet he'd beat him easy. But because khabib is a world class wrestler, on the ground I dont think Gsp would last too long. Prime Gsp vs Prime Khabib is a fight I would spend money to see
