I have a question, and maybe some of you can answer it. I've heard that at fan meetings like this that idols aren't allowed to keep the things given to them.... but then you'll see them sporting those items later. I've also heard that an idol will like an item given to them, can't keep it, so goes out and buys one themselves. Sooooo is this a case where each company deals with the gifts differently or what? I know that they can't keep everything given to them, and some are taken away for security purposes, but something like this doll wouldn't pose a threat. So yeah, I'm wondering how this works.

*They can usually keep the gifts.* This changed during the mid-third generation when the bigger agencies became financial titans and fans started holding them accountable for shady shit like managers keeping the gifts as an extension of their wages. One thing most groups aren't allowed to keep are gifts of food. Even if their packaging appears intact they can still represent a major vulnerability to sasaengs.

i've heard that too. i think its because some fans would put hidden cameras or trackers on them so its mainly a safety precaution

I think the gifts are give to the idols after the staff inspect it.

I rmb a former staff of an entertainment company once said that the idols will choose what to keep from the mountain of gifts they received and the things they chose will be checked before they get to bring it home, for safety purposes. Ofc, the process differs from company to company but if they're sporting the items later, it usually means the item has been deemed safe and the idol liked it enough to keep it.
