I love how much John Mayer can mix this great little song up. So many guitar versions to this. I've lost track of how many versions of this song I've now heard and i love them all!

It really is amazing the way that he's never afraid to play his songs in new ways. Whether it's Wheel going from 4 to 16 minutes or Split Screen Sadness acoustic; he's always trying to reinvent his old self. I wish that there were more musicians that had the guts to do this.

His ability to make his solo performances sound like the full band studio track is unreal. Or maybe it's also just as much the other way round

I was just surfing to find out more about " where the light is" cus', after all the gossip about John lately, I kinnda' lost interest, then I was expecting more of Battle Studies (it's a good album, but he's been giving us such masterpices, that good was not enough) but thanks to you (and your rare discoveries) Im starting to remembering everything that made fall for his music in the first place. The harmonies in the song is really outstanding! I didn't care much for this song at first, especially because i thought it was stupid that Taylor Swift was in it, but that aside, it is by far one of his best songs acoustics, he's done alot of good stuff, but this one is simple, very melodic and catching - plus it's a lot of fun to play and sing ! :D

@Jagshemasher It's a studio acoustic. He's probably playing both guitars on separate tracks. I really like the acoustic set to video of him being in Japan. One guitar, one voice. Works great.

So long as there are people out there that enjoy her music, her work is valid. John appreciates all different kinds of music, not just what he himself plays.

@jetpacksfortheneedy That's just kinda how John is. He's trying a new approach with new albums. Battle Studies is kind of an ode to California rock in the 70's-80's. A little more folky like Tom Petty, etc. He's said himself how it's more "open" and less guitar fills on it, but he'll probably have more intricate guitar playing and whatnot on his next record, so don't fret.

@Tork15 Even John agrees with that. He openly said that he feels Continuum is still his best work.
