"Cultivating Artistic Confluence: An Exploration of 'Chahar Mezrab Abu Ata'
Composed by: Hossein Alizadeh
Adaptation for Oud and Intro: Negar Bouban
This video presents a contemplative solo performance, notable for its amalgamation of traditional and contemporary musical elements, rendered by the accomplished musician, Negar Boban. The original composition, 'ChaharMezrab Abu-Ata' was conceived and executed by the venerable Iranian composer, Hossein Alizadeh, with a focus on the tar instrument. However, Negar Boban's rendition introduces an intriguing dimension by adapting the composition for the oud, coupled with a poignant introductory section.
Negar Boban's rendition infuses 'ChaharMezrab Abu-Ata' with a renewed emotive quality, her exceptional oud skills evoking a profound appreciation for her musical artistry. This video has achieved a substantial viewership, exceeding three million views on Rhythmica's KZfaq channel, resonating with a global audience through its melodic grace and poignant delivery.
Dive into the enduring allure of 'ChaharMezrab Abu-Ata' and explore the capacity of music to transcend geographical and cultural boundaries. Join the appreciative multitude drawn to Negar Boban's compelling performance, as she pays homage to Iran's rich musical heritage while providing her distinctive interpretation of this musical masterpiece."

I grew up enjoying European classical music, American Jazz, Kentucky Bluegrass music, and in my twenties I became enamored of classical Spanish music. A few years later I began to appreciate forms of Flamenco guitar music. Then one day in at 60 years of age I heard/ watched a KZfaq videos of various Oud artists from Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia. I was entranced, enthralled, and enchanted by this instrument. It is hauntingly beautiful!

Duygulara hitap ediyor. Sözlerim duyana. Duymayanlar onlarda ayrı bir yerdeler.

The first time I heard the magical voice of the oud was over four decades ago. It was a piece of Egyptian traditional music I happened to hear on the radio, and I was immediately captivated and entranced. Since then, the king of instruments has only gained in its power to stir my heart and uplift my spirit, and the superbly talented Negar Bouban plays it exquisitely.
