I think of Called By, Imperm, Veiler as negating a CARD and not an effect so they don’t need to directly respond to anything

are you able to go over more fundamentals of yugioh, I'm pretty new and I wanna learn , I feel like at the heart at like every game it's about using the fundamentals to win because thats all you could ever do but I think I'm just unaware of how else I can improve or apply tactics, it takes experience and a lot of play but kinda tryna take a short route lol.

This came up at my locals a few days ago: When I activated a Quick spell (Salamangreat Circle) on my Draw Phase, I wanted to hold priority and use another Quick spell (Cosmic Cyclone) in order to chain block a potential Ash Blossom (he ended up having it in hand). We ended up playing it where I couldn't hold priority and he had the chance to respond, but I was wondering if that was correct. I was able to resolve anyway because I lucky drew a Crossout Designator for turn. I came from Magic, where you're able to hold priority and continue adding to the Stack/Chain before passing priority and letting others respond. I thought Yugioh might work the same way, if you wanted to respond to your own stuff with Quick effects.

yea it doesn't work like that because both Salamangreat Circle and Cosmic are quick effects, and when quick effects are activated, it alternates between players for who responds next (like player A, then B, then A, then B). You can only stack when there's multiple trigger effects (player A activates 3 at once, then B can respond)

Chain blocking ONLY exists when multiple TRIGGER EFFECTS trigger at the same time. You cannot chain block anything else
