That last opponent was so very kind. Decided to show you his hand at the very end of the fight, demonstrating exactly what he had and where. I've seen you yell at the screen "But what was in his hand? What was there?" that I'm actually pleased to see even a single opponent actually grant you the info

Around 41:20 you missed a block with death’s shadow. Creatures dying doesn’t happen from damage, it happens when the game checks damage against toughness. So if you block with a 3/3 death’s shadow when you’re at 10, then take 3 damage, and it takes 3 damage, the new stats are added before the game checks which creatures die, so it becomes a 6/6 with 3 damage on it and survives.

That first match was pretty good. Really with they made it easier to add friends on arena because it would be sweet to connect with people that really make you play like OP did.

You could always use a deck tracker, some of them actually tell you the full username with the # number code that lets you send a request

I used chainer in a reanimator shell for hasty bane of bala geds, with a nice grist and braids lock on the side.

At 34:20, you could've discarded to cast Kroxa, get a discard, it dies, then you could've escaped it, get a discard, then attack with haste, and there goes Nissa

I have one complain overall about arena edh: if they allow golos to be played as commander, there is no reason to ban drannith magistrate from the format

I'm 2 minutes in right now, and I'm really hoping that at some point during this video I will understand why there is a Bag of Holding in this deck. I know CGB is a much better deck builder than me so I know there has to be a good reason, but for now I can't understand what good it does to not be able to discard things into the graveyard! Fingers crossed for that moment of realization where I get to slap my forehead...

Ok, so the only time CGB mentioned the Bag of Holding was when he played it and it got destroyed immediately by the Reclamation Sage and he said that he wasn't sure he wanted it anyway. I don't think I have learned anything! :-D

@@CanuckMonkey13 If he discards cards with rankle or ox or any other discard effect, he can reuse them with bag. It's a nice, if situational piece of recursion.

@@austind7232 Thanks for the reply! I'm definitely feeling a little slow. :-) So the point would be for reusing non-creature cards? For creature cards I would assume having them in the graveyard where Chainer can give them haste would be better than having them in exile and having to spend mana to get them back in hand.

@@CanuckMonkey13 depends on the situation. When building a deck, your first priority is consistency. Then it comes down to speed or redundancy, usually sacrificing one for the other. If chainer dies 3 times, do you just concede? If your playing against a blue player and want to bait a counter spell, or maybe you can't resolve chainer, then bag will act as a secondary as a way to recycle your deck.

Idk about Gyruda, but maybe a GIGAN deck! I made one in paper for my friend and it’s pretty fun, lots of themes, graveyard, mill, even costed creatures, blink, clones.

If you have a permanent that holds prority in arena but does not affect the game in any significant way, CGB will generally tap it to allow for a smoother gameplay experience for his opponent. Like a turn one fabled passage.

My understanding is that some cards (like Lair of the Hydra) holds priority (stops play to allow you to use the activated ability) even if it is the only card in play or can't be used (because X can't be Zero. A courtesy tap is to tap a card that would hold priority like Lair of the Hydra for one mana to make Arena NOT pause for priority while your opponent plays

Next time someone complains about your camera position, widen it just a little bit more and put over your hand... then don't do an intro. Show 'em who the boss is!
