I was on a website just today looking for one of those sprockets. That's crazy. C'mon Oregon. Carvers have to have 1/4 pitch! QUESTION: Do you like to seal pieces with oil and then put a finish for outdoors or just go with the Varathane/Spar urethane? I'm wondering if slathering the outside of a fresh cut carving with boiled linseed or Timber oil would help it to dry out more uniformly and avoid cracking. I would love to get your thoughts on that.
@RyanCookCarvin2 жыл бұрын
yes to both and it does help .. but wood cracks

Have you been able to do work at the Reservation? I loved that wood spirit along the highway. Scared the heck out of me when you got the ladder out and then fell off. My Dad was a Tree Surgeon in California when I was a young child. He used a saddle and rope when I a tree. Not that you had anything to even tie off on. One of his rules was no ladders with chain saws. He was coming down a tree and the small chain saw he was using hit the butt of the tree and walked up his arm from wrist to shoulder. He never lost use of that arm or hand. He was also a knife carver. I now have most of his carvings. Anyway, stay safe out there.
