You have to get the SHF. That is probably the definitive Chainsaw Man figure.

SMP line is pretty good for supersentai and toku stuff, the plastic is much thicker than usual bandai modelkit which makes them tougher and more toy-grade to play with. Only issue is they can be pretty stupid with what part gets prepainted and what gets huge stickers.

I wanna sink more into SMP, but they're hella expensive compared to your model kit, and if size is important to you, you might feel they're less bang for your buck. Also, most of them appear in P-Bandai now (at least in my country) so I'm missing out unless I go to a reseller. If you get past all that, know that you do get quality stuff, and I personally think you can treat them more like a toy than a standard model kit.

they are more expansive than the average kit but I built two of the sentai mecha kits (Gao Icarus and Gao Hunter) and felt the price were right given that most parts came pre painted and more hard plastic for the joints and moving parts

I absolutely love the Brave SMP kits but their prices are really hard to swallow. Like I primarily build real grades so it's hard for me to not feel like I'm getting gipped just a little bit

Yeah the price is kinda steep. But for transformable/combiner kits I can trust them better than hg or mg kits since the plastic are thicker and tougher.

Yeah Figmas are really hugely expensive nowadays. GSC completely abandoned Figmas in favor of Nendoroids and Scale figures, which is a shame... Meh, now Bandai has an even better chance of stealing the action figure scene !

problem I have with Bandai is they are very limited in selection compared to GSC. Like Bandai only doing stuff like mainstream shonen shows like KnY, JJK, MHA, Naruto, Dragon Ball, CSM and everything . In terms of quality and especially ease, I don't think figure rise can compare to figmas. Since some of figure rise details use stickers, waterslides which flake off, too hard to apply. whereas figma it is painted perfectly

Bandai SHF line is great with a lot of different character from many popular series but the QC is a bit hit and miss....I want to get the Tokai Teio but that qc is horrible...

I was tempted to get this, but god is that denji face awful… By the by, I definitely recommend minipla and SMP kits to people. They’re very fun. Most of them are super sentai/power rangers, but they have other super robot model kits. Just recently they released a gurren lagann model kit set that’s really well made.

I got the SMP SRX recently, it's expensive but oh boy the gimmick. It's so well engineered. And recently they announced SMP Denji Sentai kits will be reissue, I missed that on the initial release so that's also a must buy for me.

mecha ive been watching you for years, from when I couldn't afford my own figma/gunpla, to now where I can, and you are definitely right about the current state of figma. Overpriced, hit and miss, outshined multiple times from other import figures, just not what they used to be. I didnt even consider the figma denji just from looking at the figure but seeing the shf and now in-hand owning it, I regret nothing. Great video as always!

I agree Figma cost way absurd prices . Getting less and less and less acessories every time and every year now . Plus their announcement recently have really gone down the drain . Looks like they're shifting focus more on Moderoids , some Modelkits , and even those Macross Cockpits Their QC at their China factory is shit as well . some of the newer releases have messy QC paint , poor plastic quality breakage of joints , etc

15:00 I'd recommend using some pastel for shading and top coating it to settle. It doesn't require too much work, but the result is pretty satisfying!

I love the figma models however I am frustrated with their prices, the prices have gone up unreasonably and the accessories are few, sometimes even with faulty paint, smeared paint

I still love and will defend Figma. I'm honestly not sold on the SH figuarts Chainsaw Man, seeing prices from Amazon and BBTS for 64~69 before taxes and shipping and it only coming with just an extra mouth part and slightly different hands. It's a hard swallow especially when they're making a completely separate figure for Denji. For me a grand total of 102 for the Figma and all the parts to switch between Denji and CSM i thought was a better deal. Sure i do wish the Figma was a bit more dirtied up and detailed, but i've made my bad decision and Pre-Ordered the Figma for Power too.

I saw an SHF chainsaw man that was $45 back in box, but even in the lowered price it didn't seem like a worth it purchase for me because of the same reasons you stated. It looks amazing and all that but it seems lacking.

I own this figure and for the love of god don’t buy the figma, the shf is worth it so much. He doesn’t come with much but the articulation, look, playability, and everything is worth it. Besides I got mine for $75 on amiami and it came after a couple weeks. Very worth it

I honestly think Figma isn’t even worth buying anymore. I only have 2 and my 3rd I preordered thankfully before they increased the price by a third, but after that I’m done. Honestly S. H. Figurearts I’m not crazy about either, but at least they didn’t become overpriced recently. The Dragon Ball figures are pretty good from the few I picked up, and they feel far less flimsy.

I recently bought a Lancer Artoria and I would say she is worth it for her looks alone. But I usually get my Figma from Mandarake anyway which is way cheaper.

Not just the New Release ones the out of Print ones cost more than the New Figmas. Fuck, some (Inlcuding Lum and Kat from Gravity Rush) cost 100-400$ alone. Lum is absolutely terribly overpriced. Yet, GSC won't even Re-Realease them at all.

That is really nice with the parts come painted. Stickers can be very annoying. My only gripe with humanoid type model kits is the joints looking a bit too noticeable.
