On Tuesday, Harvard University President Claudine Gay resigned following a plagiarism scandal and the public backlash from her failure to strongly condemn the rampant antisemitism occurring on Harvard's campus during a congressional hearing on December 5th. President Gay was unable to say unequivocally that calls on Harvard's campus for the genocide of Jews violated the school’s code of conduct.
Chairwoman of the House Education and the Workforce Committee Virginia Foxx (R-NC) joined Elizabeth MacDonald on Fox Business's Evening Edit to react to Claudine Gay's resignation and the Committee's ongoing congressional antisemitism investigation into Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and others.

No, she is blurring the very clear lines that permit even odious speech and expression in traditional First Amendment fora -- and every university, public or private, has such fora. Couldn't agree more. An easy thing for her to put up as a shield for her initial stance and lack of action to protect her students. I was very taken aback by her "intellegencia" answer in Congress that day. She should have said more against the Anti-Semtic threats on her campus. Really stupid, and may perhaps reveal what she Really feels. "She" blew it, not anyone else. As a black leader, in a historic position, she let the black community down. She had a golden opportunity as a woman of color and her ego lead the way.

Although she resigned, the damage has been done and it's irreversible. The word "Harvard" has a tarnished sound to it now. Harvard has the same problem that Bud Light has, they'll never regain there stature. In fact, the board members of Harvard made it much worse than it was before because they didn't fire her and they even had the grounds to do it. "The Best and the Brightest" will not want to graduate (or teach) at Harvard anymoe, because they'll be asked, "Where did you get your degree from?" She's still there and still receiving a mil a year from Harvard. It looks like the beginning of the end has all been done deliberately.

Someone who has a doctorate does not necessarily mean that they're an outstanding person. Albert Speer had a doctorate and I would not classify this man as a role model. Both Timothy Leary and Ted Kaczynski taught in universities and I consider both of them to be mad men. And there have been men and women who had all the proper educational credentials who taught in very famous universities were expelled for serious misconduct. There are lots of famous people on KZfaq who at the same time are infamous. For instance there are infamous people on KZfaq who did outlandish things making serious amount of money on KZfaq. I don't consider Sammy Gravano to have led a prestigious life. Anyone who has a doctorate, and teaches in a prestigious university is not necessarily far better person than the average Joe or Josephine. For instance a husband and wife raising a family is doing a great deal for society, as well as someone who has a high school education and joins the service or the Police Department, to benefit the society is doing a great deal with their lives. A ordinary nurse has saved countless people's lives. A woman who dedicates her life to helping people by becoming a nun is admirable. Also Claudine Gay refused point blank to discuss the atmosphere on Harvard which was aimed at Jewish students, which gives me the idea where she is coming from. I don't think that a person like that should be in a leadership position also I don't classify such people as role models. I get the idea you yourself see nothing wrong with what she did and you are in full favor of it. And I also believe you think in a way such as, "Well it's alright if it happens that group but it's not alright if that happens to my group." Also everything I wrote came from me and my Associate's degree. Nothing was plagiarized.

There was no trap. Gay & the others were free to answer as they desired. They all gave cover-your-ass legalize answers and refused to address the issue. Quick test to determine if a remark is racist/bigoted just sub the name of another group into the equation. Free speech becomes hate speech when it threatens the lives of others and condones violence. A campus needs good leadership that understands historical ramifications. All students should feel safe. No student should be bullied, threatened, or fearful of practicing their faith.

Would have passed the test by answering that shouting "intifada" and "from the mountain to the sea" sounds like a violation of school rules and they would immediately investigate and protect their Jewish students. It was pretty clear that that was what the Republican Congress members wanted to hear. I don't think that Harvard or many of the media outlets understand the rage that is rising in the professional community. The authorship of intellectual property, from publications to patents is the basis of a professional's identity. It affects their reputation, their salary and their future. A thief like Gay, and I will not refer to her as a PhD, impacts all of us, not just those she stole from. Who wants their authorship to come into question because of the actions of Gay, the Harvard board and the Harvard student unions.
