Dione songs were written specifically for her voice register so Chaka singing this so extremely well only proves her excellent skill and ability to make this song her own. Complimenting Dione while making the song her own!!! I love 💕 being Black!!!

Dionne’s songs are not easy to sing she just makes them look easy. Chaka did a wonderful job with an advanced song like this. It shows not only her showmanship but also her musicianship to present this song in very good manner. She complimented the song.

I tell U all it’s like the beloved late Prince May he Rest In Peace and in power) himself said, Chaka is THE VOICE OF LIFE. Chaka can sing anything. She can take any song and just make it her own. She has to have the strongest voice second to no one. Take a listen at 2:52, she just unleashes that power of hers and hits those notes like you and I breathe or drink water, absolutely no straining or nothing whatsoever. She just opens that mouth and it just comes out. And you heard Marsha herself say at 5:03 and Vickie herself say at 5:08 that she doesn’t need a microphone. Marsha said in high school she sometimes wouldn’t even have a microphone but would just fill up the audience. This is why the QUEEN OF SOUL, Aretha Franklin (may she rest in peace and in power) said herself that Chaka is a world premiere vocalist. AIN’T NOBODY & I mean AIN’T NOBODY like her.

The sublime Ms Khan made this classic her own like only she can. Even Dionne's renowned rendition is not in this class. As for Whitney's! It's best I say nothing! The Divine Ms Sarah Vaughan's 1969 live performance on the other hand is, as one would expect, absolutely spectacular and truly majestic.

Dionne Warwick's Jazz version is wonderfully smooth. Whitney Houston's reinterpretations are more daring and tough. Well, Chaka Khan is touring in between. My absolute favorite is Whitney Houston. She really enjoys it.

It was however written for Dionne. Cilla only got to sing It first as it was being filmed I England and the British government wanted one of their subjects to sing it. Hence Cilla Black. When the film came to America Universal wanted one of their artists to sing it hence Cher.....and so on and so forth. But again it was written for Dionne Warwick. When Dionne recorded it she did so reluctantlyas she felt it had been milked dry by so many others, but she did (record it)it was supposed to be an album filler and yet her version is the standard and she had the most chart success with it.
