Challenge Accepted! Chopping Down Her First Tree Ever!

Her first tree felling ever! This girl can swing that axe! ‪@fatefarmspa‬ challenged me to chop down a tree with an axe. Well when you challenge me you get Rachel too! How does it go? What does Rachel think about dropping her first tree ever? She uses a custom axe courtesy of Tim VanDeusen ‪@TimAndOldSaws‬ to complete this challenge which has already been done by myself and Kenny‪@OpenAirAdventure‬. It didn’t go perfectly but for her first time I’d say Rachel rocked it! What do you think? How did she do and do you want to see more axe work on Hard Working Man?

She did a pretty good job on this one! I remember years ago I almost hurt myself badly. I was using a 24” Fiskars chopping a pine down and when I was swinging down, it glanced off the tree and towards my foot. Cut through my Buffalo boot and into my sock and luckily didn’t get into my foot. Again, good job!

I have never had one ricochet like that. You saw the look she gave me. I told her she’d be fine and couldn’t hit herself. She almost proved me wrong. Glad she didn’t. You can’t get much closer than you did!

Think about how many trees that were cut across Michigan with an axe You did a great job awesome work 😊😊 It brought back a memory of a tree I cut with an axe when I was maybe 10 or 12 years old with my father

I can’t imagine doing all the work we do with saws and splitters with an axe! My boys have a few memories from around our yard. They got a hold of one of my axes when we moved in here and proceeded to attempt to chop down every oak and walnut tree in the yard. The trees all have the scars to prove it.

@@hardworkingmanoutdoors That sounds a lot like my story. I went after a pine tree about 12 inches across. Dad was going to put a driveway into a field and said it had to go. I had the tree maybe 3/4 cut when he caught me (I was just trying to help) I don’t have to tell you how mad he was or why I remember this story from 1975 ish. By the way the axe was dull and I think I stopped for dinner LOL I don’t remember ever telling this story to anyone before

Nice job Rachel, unless you have split a ton of firewood with an axe it takes a very long time to hit the tree or round in the same spot over and over until you succeed. Great job overall gal. Cheers Woody !!!

Great job Rachel. Lucky you didn’t hit the leg. Maybe wear the chaps next time, if you do it again. She’s in great shape. I did the challenge sort of, about a month ago. Tree was already down, so I chopped it in half. So I could drag it out of the woods. So not a real challenge I guess. 🤭🤭 but was fun to chop up a tree. Have a great weekend 🪵🪓🔥👋👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
