This is one of the highest skill expression games I've seen Boxbox play in a while, he popped off like crazy with the gold remover and LDP strats, so many fights came down to his little micro-optimizations

definitely not the worst, every time I picked I went first (picked it 2 times). you go mitics and put 2 tank times and 1 ap scale item and it just never dies and does tons of dmg

The current meta with Dryad is awful. I had one game where i hit 6 porcelain + 5 fated, hit Porcelain sett 2, Fated Udyr 2, BiS ashe 2 with radiant LW and BiS Syndra 2 and i was lvl10 with exalted, but lost to Gnar 3 Kindred 3, that is insanely tilting that two 2 costs 3 stars are just better than an insane capped out board because theyre that unbalanced

You must’ve not positioned Lissandra and your carrys right. Or they were also 10 with golden egg or big cash out.

@@Mr4512hkj there was no cashout, and they were 9 with 10 gold. Even If there were en egg cashout, there is no cashout that gives enough gold to level and roll, only possibility would be call to chaos for him to go 10, and at that point, Syndra and Ashe werent my carries, Sett 2 porcelain 6 and Udyr 2 fated were, and they still just did nothing, despiste Udyr having a Sunfire + Adaptive and sett having Steraks + Titans

Well there’s your problem. Both of those are basically cc/attack fighters which gnar does better when stacked with dryad. Basically hard counters you. You would’ve hard countered him with giga tank ornn or Annie and Liss Ashe carry. I agree that the meta is bad but you just got rock paper scissored basically.

Am I the only person that find it obnoxious with the backline vs 1 unit champs? Like backline carries are just so squishy they can't stand up to a thing, meanwhile melee units just walk through your board and onto your backline. Then you watch your super squishy but high damage dealing unit just not attacking stuff that's beating on them because they are stuck on a tank and boom they die you lose. With previous sets I understood why backline units were so squishy because if you put stuff in front of them, generally that stuff had to die to get to the backline unit. Now days? Units just walk past the frontline and dump on your carry while your tanks are sitting there like "uhh what happened?". Even crazier is often times there isn't even counterplay.

Whats crazier than this is that i remember Mortdog talking about How he doesnt want anymore to melee units just walk up and kill your backline in set 8(If im not mistaken), so they took out assassins, but then they proceed to make units like Sett or Udyr, who can just one shot your backline by using their abilities and then walking up

Depends on which sets you are comparing. We did have assassins and even a giga chad over9000 hp ranged carry zooming right into your backline and killing everything. Backline access was much worse than this in some previous sets. Maybe non-existant in others. I get your point, but it is not that bad imo. It is ok to not like a set but do not forget the facts of the past because of your dislikes. Just food for thought, dear fellow gamer.

@@tanook6073 This set for me has been by far the least fun and most frustrating. It has been such a disappointment compared to the last set. Like last set had some backline access but it was manageable. This set its like every carry just nukes back lines.

@@anasvas You can position for assassins though and make them jump onto tanks. You can't position for Irelia... Yes previous sets had issues with specific carries with too much back line access, but those were nerfed to balance it out. In this set its not 1 or 2 units with too much back line its pretty much every single carry has back line access. There should be no reason a ranged carry ever gets nuked and killed 5 seconds into the fight when it's entire front line is still alive. That is a major issue and any carry so vulnerable is always going to just be trash.
