At time 13:55 camera angle caught the cliffs in your painting merged in line with the real cliffs. Now that was magic!

Love the grand vista and large size. I’m sure you didn’t catch this but check out the video about at 12:05-12:20 minutes in. The right edge of the canvas aligns perfectly with the landscape behind it! Amazing coincidence.

Better put the device on the charger CP is doing plein air but a little larger Breaking waves define the grand view Energy, vitality, color shifts and sky cerulean blue A lot of canvas to cover; using lots of white Why such a small brush? We don’t ask, we’re polite. 😁 Pa-tre-on has more videos + materials list The end result is better than we could have wished 🌊 Whoa! This is spectacular! A stunning painting. Thanks for sharing! Really like this one. You almost get the feeling with a large painting like this, it might feel like as much of a window as a painting on the wall.

California dreaming...lovely brisk day here on the Atlantic coast but not plein air worthy. Planning my spring. I love this size and the small brush makes for so much energy.

Thanks Tim! For many years I painted larger canvases with a large brush and was unsatisfied with the results. The surface lacked complexity. It depends on what you're after. I like a surface full of variation and energetic strokes and the smaller brush works better for those effects.

The painting looks fantastic Michael. I noticed that the horizon is closer to the center of the canvas than you usually do. A Winslow Homer influence? Great video Michael.
@chamberlainpaintings7 ай бұрын
Thanks! i appreciate Winslow Homer but the placement of the horizon was just instinct. I wanted to feature both water and sky.
@andrewrea27997 ай бұрын
@@chamberlainpaintings interesting. You mentioned the placement of horizon several times in your Winslow Homer video so I thought maybe you were exploring it. It turned out really well.

Great painting. I’ve watched you step back several feet to analyze he painting. Have you ever used a reducing glass?
@chamberlainpaintings7 ай бұрын
I often view the painting through the camera on my phone in order to reduce the size. I do this in addition to walking back. A reducing glass could be helpful!

A question…… a recent painting that I sold came back to me with the request that some tiny spots of white canvas were still showing in the painting that the framer thought I should cover with paint. My question for you is if you don’t tone before painting do you think white canvas showing through is something that is distracting? I had to hunt for these tiny white spots ( 3) and really didn’t see them as distracting in the painting. They were in a water part of the painting. I touched them up for the customer, but felt it was unnecessary .
@chamberlainpaintings7 ай бұрын
The framer or the customer thought the spots should be covered? It seems out of line for the framer to recommend modifying a painting that's already been sold. There are some painters that leave white spots all over their paintings. It's up to you!
@joycebutler34947 ай бұрын
@@chamberlainpaintings It was the framer who brought it up to the customer. The customer was a return customer and never complained about any of the other paintings she purchased. I agree, it wasn’t the framers place to suggest changes, but in this case I did want my Customer to be happy and the framer made her sees it as flawed!🙄 thanks for replying back, I love watching you paint and your commentary .💓
