i have chamberlain hd 220 garage door opener. there were a power surge in our place and the garage motor is not working anymore. What would be the possible problem.

how do you pick the right size sprocket for the door?

mebigbear trial and error, but I found a good size that works with this opener.

Is the motor driving the door from the Chamberlin unit?? I have very little space between the wall and the torque tube. Can you tell me what the measurement is from the door track to the outside edge of the motor?

It is about 5.5" from the end plate to the back of the motor. Hope that helps.

+travisle1 So is the motor we can see from the unit? If so, how much is the kit to make it work this way? It is too wide to use in my garage, but I may be able to flip it and hang it above the tube.

+Steve 1961P. yes it is from the black case. I have the complete set up for sale $250 or a do it yourself kit for $85 plus shipping if you already have 1 of these openers.

+travisle1 also you can mount the motor anywhere on the shaft. I sold 1 of these to a guy that mounted it almost in the center of the door ( next to the spring) and he mounted the case in his atic. The only downside to that is you have to take everything apart.

With this type of setup you don't have a safety release.
