Methinks Gordon was sipping a few during this show. Also, Warriors vs Dusty/Ole was an AWA title match.

This was right after Vince McMahon bought the Georgia/World Championship Wrestling timeslot. When "Outlaw" (non-NWA) promotions entered an NWA territory, other NWA promoters were obliged to send their top talent to help the NWA promoter in the area (which Ole and Paul Jones were the owners) to help fend off the outlaw promotion. That's why Jerry Lawler, Rick Rude and Jimmy Hart came in from Memphis, Brad Armstrong and Tim Horner came in from Mid-South/Southeastern Championship Wrestling and the Crocketts sent in top stars like Tully Blanchard

There was a stipulation when the Road Warriors were AWA Tag Team Champs and wrestling the NWA, they could not win the NWA Tag Title.

Gordon worked 3 territories simultaneously Georgia, Florida, and Alabama in the 70s and 80s.

@@30907bng Really he worked Alabama that I never knew , I knew about Georgia but of course I grew up in Florida so me & my dad watched that faithfully every Saturday night

The Prophet of Rage Gordon did work Alabama but not until 1985. When Southeastern Wrestling became Continental they replaced Charlie Platt with Gordon Solie. By that time he was no longer doing Ga. as Tony Schiavone and David Crockett were on TBS

Mike Jackson was one of the top five technical wrestlers to ever step into a ring. He was to small to get the push needed to be a top contender.

Yes, he is also on some AWA cards around this time too. I think the AWA was cross promoting with Memphis and he teams with the Fabs.

Tony in TMSN isn't really a story so much as a sub plot and I think a lot of fans hate that since the movie was advertised as Tony's origin story, but was really a movie that looks like it was supposed to be an origin of Dicke Moltasante and, half way thru writing the script they tried to shoehorn in the woke, SJW , BLM stuff but it was super half assed- the character was flat and empty and that's a no no in the Sopranos. The movie falls apart because it wants to be episodic inside of a film timeframe. Way too much for so little time and the well-intentioned peddling (AKA blaxploitation) of today's social mores blew up in their faces. Brother man is a flat character that had no real ending or resolution to his character, they bait and switched on Tony's role in the movie and they made Dickie fall flat as well and the ending was just shite and too simple to be of expected Sopranos quality.
