In Okkadu prakash raj character ' scope is limited. There the villain's old mother character dominates. It also not very interesting.. The added comedy episodes in the tamil version work outed very well. Those fun moments are totally missing in the original. In the original version hero 's father has no objection with son 's kabadi interests, intact there the father advises his son to focus on the game. So the conflict point between the father and son also misses in the original. Climax of the original also not makes any interest as the remake. In my opinion Dharani did an excellent job by cuting unnecessary elements and adding the the needed things showed an example how to make good remakes than just copying the original.

I didn't see the Tamil version. Still from what i heard, in Tamil Jyothika was possessed by a Ghost. But in Malayalam at the climax, Mohan lal reveals that there is no ghost, its only multiple personality disorder. That twist at the end made this movie a big success. Because in 1994 nobody was aware about such a mental disorder.

The point of Manichitrathazhu is that the audience think that Ganga is possessed by something supernatural but in the third act we get to know that its not anything supernatural, instead it was actually a psychological disorder all along. But other remakes dont actually make sense at all...for example the scene in which Ganga lifts the bed. All the other remakes actually make no sense at all coz a person can't single handedly lift such a big bed even if they have a mental illness. The bed that shobana lifted is possible for a person with an adrenaline rush to lift. Even with all the artificial lights and nonsensical sound effects jyothika's scene didn't scare me as much as Shobana's which is just perfect acting. I've spoken to so many people who saw Chandramukhi and they actually didnt understand that it was a psychological thriller and not a ghost movie. They did not understand that its not a ghost in Ganga's body. Even after watching the whole film some still think that it was actually a real ghost. All the other remakes fails to communicate that particular plot twist.

1. The main difference between two movies is in Malayalam they handled it completely as a psychological problem split personality and no ghost. In tamil they involved ghost. 2. There is much depth in Malayalam about why she thought the guy in the back house was her lover. In Tamil there is nothing. 3. In Malayalam there is reason why they think Nayanthara character was trying to kill Prabhu character. They were cousins and they should have got married. When that didn’t happen, there is enemity. In Tamil, there is no depth related to this Please give story and screenplay related differences in addition to character differences. Like your videos. Expecting more details in upcoming videos.

Malayalam original version is intelligently written and edited. The detailing in every scene literally gave me goosebumps. Finest performances, classy direction. One of the greatest film ever made. Tamil version is completely diluted and feels like a spoof.
