Chandrashila | Tungnath Temple Uttarakhand | Himalayan peaks visible from Chandrashila-Tungnath Trek

The trek to Tungnath Temple is a popular trek in Uttarakhand. The topmost peak of Tungnath temple is called Chandrashila. Tungnath to Chandrashila is a steep trek of 1-1.5 km. There are many mythological stories associated with Chandrashila. According to one legend, Lord Rama meditated here, according to another legend moon god Chandra meditated on Chandrashila to get rid of the curse of King Daksha, and for this reason this peak was named Chandrashila. When you finally reach Chandrashila after climbing one and a half kilometers from Tungnath temple, the magical views from here make all your tiredness disappear. From Chandrashila you can see Himalayan peaks like Nandadevi, Trisul, Kedar Peak, Bandarpunch, Satopanth, Dunagiri, Kalanka, Bhagirathi, Jogin, Chaukhamba etc.

That's why Himalaya called the "KIng of all Mountain ranges around the globe", where the mountains raise from the holy land and touches the feet of heaven cutting through the cloudy sky. One can imagine the "Kailsa" as a face of lord Shiva and these ranges/peaks as his hairs(shikha) - it really fits into that picture. Nice Vlog, Nice description. Har Har Mahadev....

तबियत thodi down hai, abhi अंदर se तैयार nahi hoon. Dimag aur bike dono kharab. Tungnath aane ka program bana hi liya tha, per bike me aisa fault aa Gaya, machnic ne long ride ke liye clear manaa kar diya, Lovely V 15 on rest. new bike search. जैसी भोलेनाथ की मर्जी। वो कहते हैं ना कि जो होता है अच्छे के लिए ही होता है।. ठीक होते ही देखूँगा Lucky.

1977 मे पुणे महाराष्ट्र से 100 मेंबर पंच केदार ( गंगात्री, यमणोत्री, केदारनाथ, तुंगनाथ, बद्रीनाथ, हेमंकुंड, वाली ऑफ फ्लॉवर, ट्रेक किया था. तब हम केदारनाथ होकार चोपता चटी मे एक ही ढाबा था l हमारे 30 मेंबरका एक ग्रुप था हम तुंगनाथ मे एक रात रुके थे l श्रीनगर युनिव्हर्सिटी के बॉटनी के छात्र कुछ रिसर्च करने तुंगनाथ मे रहते थे l 25 दिनका ट्रेक था 450
