It’s difficult to justify the price when the bag can only hold so few items 😔 My medium classic flap actually holds a good amount of items, more than my everyday essentials. I think if you are going to fork out over $10K might as well add a few more hundred $ and get the medium size. The medium doesn’t look that much bigger than the small, but that extra inch of space means you can fit more small items. I’m glad I bit the bullet and bought my MCF last year, even though it’s preloved and many years old now, and cost over AUD8k it is in immaculate condition and I don’t have any regrets. I know I’ll always pine for it if I don’t have it. Owning it has satisfied my craving and it will never leave my collection! 🥰 I don’t wear it very often it’s because it’s a special item to me and I don’t want to put unnecessary wear and tear on it by over-using. I’m going to use it until I’m an old granny, then hand it down to my daughter. I have the caviar with silver hardware and this suits my casual style because it doesn’t look out of place when I wear it on errands, and also look chic and elegant I when dress up and wear it out to fancier occasions. I felt sick in stomach paying so much money for a bag but that feeling dissipates over time 😆 I absolutely love my MCF, and have no regret with my decision to finally get it 💕🥰

Kat, you took all the words out of my mouth. I took my small out last night and whispered to myself "I can't believe how much this bag costs". Then I told my husband and he said yea, you could almost buy a rolex with that. Then we talked about how hard it is to get a rolex now too. HAHA.

Watching a year after your upload. Now that we are “in the future,” I am sure you are thrilled you got your bag before the steepest price increases EVER. I think you made a great choice getting a black bag with GHW in small, because it can be both a daytime or evening bag. Two weeks ago, I paid the insane new price for a beige medium classic flap with SHW in caviar. I hope it will appreciate in value, but I am okay if it does not, because I will never sell this bag! I chose medium, because it is daytime use, and SHW because my lifestyle is casual here in Hawaii. Not worried about color transfer because I wear light colors here. We all think through these purchases very carefully, which is part of the fun!

I either carry a lot and use a tote or very minimal and take either a small or micro bag, depending how minimal. No regrets on my small classic flap! 😍

Well said. Love your review. You wont believe but this bag has been on my mind for years and i bought it last month from the store.. when the sa took my card i was just stunned. The price can cause a heart attack😅 But after buying it i told myself at least now its in my collection.❤i love.her and she is small but the medium is almost close to 15k also i prefer the small when i shoulder sling it as it fits my frame more. Lets just enjoy her fully!

I love your bag Kat! I have silver caviar M/L and I love mine. I could’ve gone with the small though. Chanel classic flap is gorgeous and I feel lucky to have purchased it 6 years ago (even then the price was outrageous!).

I'm glad you got yours! For me I think Chanel CF is the holy grail bag. I've got mine preloved in SHW, ML and don't for one minute regret it! It is a versatile bag that can elevate an outfit instantly, whether dressed up or down. That's how versatile it is.

I’m glad you got this bag Kat. Despite it’s few cons, I t’s still such a classic piece. You can definitely pull off the crossbody look because of your slim build. As time goes on, you will learn how to adapt to the smaller capacity. Enjoy it, it looks good on you. 💗

I can only say it’s worth it if it’s something you’ve been lusting on for a long time. I’ve wanted one since 2019. Instead saved for a home. Moved on to other bags as I wasn’t sure even though I kept lusting. Finally got it last yr in October. I told myself either now or never. So go for it now! As I’m sure by the next increase I will for sure be priced out.

I have just sold my medium CF in black with silver hardware. Difficult decision for me but I haven’t used it for 2 years now and I have completely gone off the look if I am honest. Had it for 7 years and doubled my money on it, so what you say is quite accurate Kat. You do have to keep it a long time to see the returns. I don’t mind paying those kind of prices if the bag makes you feel special. That’s why I only buy H now 🤷‍♀️

Hi Kat! I just recently visited my Chanel SA and purchased your exact bag. I definitely think it’s worth it for me since it will be a forever bag. Even though it is expensive think if we wait to purchase it 5 years from now the prices will be much higher. I think with Chanel no matter when you buy it, it’s still will be cheaper by the next price increase. If you love it, it’s better to buy it sooner then later. Even though we bought it “later” (at this point) 5-10 years from now we will be saying glad we bought it “sooner” ( hope that makes sense) I will dm you a picture on insta and show you how I pack it, because I seem to fit more. I remember the medium classic flap was offered to me by an SA few yrs ago, but at the time, I thought it was too expensive and it was just a bit over $5k. Even then it was hard to justify shelling out that amount of money (plus tax) for a bag that I might not use all the time since it's more like a formal bag. Now that the price doubled, I think it's extremely hard to justify that it's worth 5 digits. Even their seasonal bags or mini bags are nearly $5k now. Most people's salary do not increase like the amount these bags increase unfortunately.

I don't own any Chanel classic flap because I when I had tried the medium and small a few years ago, I found the double flap got in my way getting in and out of the bag and I couldn't wear it comfortably crossbody although I am petite. But, I do love the look of classic flaps... they are beautiful bags. The mini rectangle is on my wishlist. my medium CF (caviar, GHW) is almost 13 years old (wah my bag is a teenager haha) and it hardly shows its age, despite me using it as my work bag for a good number of years, and you know I don't baby my bags at all. so even though the price of the CF is many many times what I paid for it back in the day, I would say this classic of classics is still worth it. Yes, a medium CF is now the price of a b25 (lordy, can't believe this day has come haha), but we all know the real price of a birkin is bag + prespend. Ask me again when the CF is $20k haha. might have a harder time coming to that conclusion.

Love the vid. The crossbody mod shot actually doesn’t look bad at all! I think when it sits higher, it’s more fashionable. It’s in between a fanny pack and a traditional crossbody. That’s more trendy!

I only really want two bags from Chanel and this is one of them. I’d wear it as an occasion bag mainly and so I’d like to keep for 20-30 yrs or so, with the proper care, but is this really feasible? That’s a long time for a bag and the cost per wear would still be in the hundreds. 😆 I genuinely don’t know if I’ll ever buy it because I am older and my sense and sensibilities kick in. I have spent hundreds of thousands on cars over the years which seemed acceptable but really, they aren’t. Damn you Chanel! Small bags are the best as you get older and the joints start to ache, haha.

Its been my weekly bag to work, sometimes i use it on weekends family outings. However now, i felt like i need a smaller bag for dinner events. I feel like SCF capacity is about the same as mini rectangular coz of the double flap on CF make it more tight.. that’s why i got my MCF instead.

The Chanel classic bag is worth buying. But it is not worth it to buy brand new with their ridiculous price now. I own multiple Chanel bags and I stopped buying them years ago as I find the price keep increasing and they just keep releasing new collection yearly with the same bag but in different colors. It's ridiculous how they price these bags that is probably worth $500 to make. I love Chanel but I will never buy them again. My love for luxury handbags has ended since I have all my dream bags now and my priorities have changed from the past 4 years. And the fear of missing out was kicked outta my door long ago. I'm confident to carry Coach handbags or dollar store hand bags now anywhere and longer embarrassed to carry cheap handbags. 😂🤣😂🤣 I stopped caring of what people are wearing or what brand of bag they carry. ♥️♥️
