The fact you made a point of speaking about how you sold items to buy that bag really made me stop and think. The amount of money I spend / waste on cheap throwaway fashion and accessories ALL THE TIME - none of my items would be sellable to help me raise funds to treat myself to designer, but if I was committed I could save within a reasonable amount of time to buy a designer bag. Although I appreciate you buy bags purely for the fact you love them, I think a lot of thought goes into your purchases and I admire that, people may judge you on face value for your designer buys but I think you're actually super sensible about it!

I love that one of the reasons you wanted the classic flap so much is because your grandma had one when you were growing up and not just because it's such a "must have" bag. I've always loved that bag because it's such a Chanel icon and I love the history of the design house, so in some ways it would be like owning a piece of history. And while it's definitely expensive and not something you buy on a whim, it's still a bit more attainable than a Birkin or Kelly lol (the Kelly is my wildest dreams kind of bag). As long as I'm still doing my PhD, Ted Baker is about as luxe as I can afford, but hopefully one day I can add a Chanel to my collection. :)

Love your videos, I just got my Chanel classic flap jumbo in caviar leather & silver hardware few days ago in Venice. It's around 4700 plus euro minus the 14% tax refund. It's still expensive but a lot cheaper compared when buying it here in Japan. Enjoy your items and continue to make beautiful videos, xoxo!

So glad you've done a vlog on this. I've got the same bag but slightly larger and every vlogger seems to say how much better the caviar leather is than the lambskin because of scratches etc. I was really worried that I'd got the wrong one, but hearing you say you're happy with the lambskin even though it may get marks, has made my day. I recently purchased a boy bag at the Rue Cambon location....huge and exciting purchase for me. It took me ten minutes to find someone to help me and then I was the only one not offered a beverage. I went back later in the week and wanted to try on a pair of shoes I sat in the shoe department for 25 minutes and not a single sales associate offered me assistance so I got up, left, and made my purchase elsewhere. It was the worst luxury experience I've ever had which was very sad to me because I was buying my holy grail bag

The bag is beautiful! By the way, it looks to me like it's a 10 inch 2.55 classic lambskin flap! The 9 inch is the small, and then there are the jumbo and maxi which are bigger than the 10 inch. P.S. The 9 and 10 inch sizes are called "2.55" because they were created in February of 1955.
