I think I feel the same- maybe because it has everything about it that makes me think classic Chanel- but then again it has those little differences to the flap that make it a bit of a fresher and lesser seen style. xx

Lee Lee MLV I was snooping through your Chanel. I spotted the Leather Surgeon video. So glad I did. I've been contemplating sending one of my vintage Chanel bag for repair. Back in the days the red lining inside the bag would tend to peel years later. That is what's happening now to my handbags from the early 1990's. I personally checked out Rago Brothers but I got the impression that their specialty is shoes and not luxury handbags. When you mentioned the cost I was blown away. Much cheaper then the Chanel spa cost. I am now convinced that Leather Surgeon is the route I should take. Great video and I suspect more people will watch it when it comes time to maintenance their Chanel bags since Chanel no longer refurnishes handbags older than 5 years.

EddaElid I’m so glad you found that video a few friends have already used them just from my recommendation I have a friend now check out her channel Graceandherhandbag , she just sent out 2 vintage bags to leather surgeonsh so she shows the bags before and will be showing them after they come back I am curious to see their work on video with vintage bags please let me know how it all turns out I love your channel

Why is it that returning bags to the boutiques to be sent off is so expensive- and I'm not convinced- particularly with LV- that their repairs are always the best ?!!? xx

Emma Anders you have no idea what was just done to me with my 5 month old pochette metis , it started to have the glazing cracking issue very small however I thought it would be a good idea to bring it in right away so I did it came back after 3 weeks and instead of re glazing they decided to replace the entire flap , once I heard that my biggest fear is exactly what they did I told my SA if my bag came back and only had the Leather loop over the SLock replaced I was not signing for it nor accepting it my bag had an even patina on all the parts on that bag I take pride in getting my bags to all have even patina ,I was right however instead they decided to replace the handle only and not the other leather parts to match so now I had a brand new mis matched leather bag , she sent it back October 10th it was originally sent out Sept 16th now I’m being told I am waiting for parts for them to replace the other small 3 Leather parts as you know the PM doesn’t have much vachetta , so I feel now they are purposely making me wait for not accepting their half ass repair I was told they didn’t feel the need to replace the other areas since nothing was wrong with them , nothing was wrong with my handle either I’m just very upset with LV quality right now they actually tried to blame me for the glazing cracking saying maybe I opened the flap to far back ! I just want my bag back

Are you ready for a very long answer......Honestly- getting the Birkin has now made me so much more relaxed about buying bags! It was my 'ultimate bag' and along with the chanel flap, neverfull, lady dior and speedy- the bags I had dreamt about for years before I had even been in a boutique- have made me completely content with my collection. Feeling content and being pleased with what I have in the moment are not common feelings for me- I am a very goal focused person and get great pleasure from striving for things, achieving goals and then quickly moving onto the next one. And I've got to be honest- I think I've had this approach with bags. Until now. I've completed 'my bag goals' and now want to turn my attention for simply acquiring more and more stuff to getting the most out of them etc.. I absolutely love bags- and I'm sure there will always be more bags that I want. And if I had endless money I have no doubt that I would have bought more already. And I'm not saying I won't buy anymore- I definitely will- but buying more is no longer a mission! Hahahaha sorry. No short way of putting that. xxx

Thank you 😘 I think I do too. I definitely prefer the look of the lambskin to my caviar flap but I can't knock how resilient the flap has been over the years and I definitely don't think it would be in quite such good shape if I got it in lambskin- certainly not around Tia anyway xx

No. Its happened to me maybe twice- in all the times I've worn it. And then kept happening during filming. It really started to annoy me haha. But then again everything that can go wrong does go wrong when I film and it hasn't done it again since. Grr. x

Deborah I purchased this same handbag (in lambskin) this past December. I have worn the handbag about 5 times and I’m already seeing excessive wear on the leather along both sides of the long metal plate (again on the leather and not the plate). This is unavoidable. The wrinkling is from opening and closing the bag. Because of the rigid plate it places more stress on the leather adjacent to the metal plate. When at the boutique ask to see the trendy cc on display and look for the wear I just mentioned and see if it’s something you can live with. Again I’ve only worn it 5 times and to see such early excessive wrinkling of the leather is quite disappointing and a sign that the best leather is not being utilized. I have a vintage classic single flap lambskin purse that took years of use before any stress was displayed on the leather. Considering that the bag is over $5,000 (US) it’s hard to recommend the bag with such prone to wear. Also the bag is not very functional especially if you are against overloading your bag. I refuse to overstuff it so I can barely carry my essentials and keep in mind you need a good inch on both sides of the bag unoccupied if you want the chain to slide in and out without friction. But I have to say the bag is stunning especially when you pair it with a suit. The gray color you mentioned is gorgeous and a great alternative to black. Let me know if you end up getting it and your first impression. I love reading how each person has their own interpretation and experience with this bag. Btw, my bag was made in Italy 2017 with silver hardware and black interior. Emma’s was made in France and has burgundy interior. It’s possible her leather is of better quality than mine. I’m excited for you. Good luck with your purchase and enjoy your trip.

The grey is very pale and makes me even more nervous about how delicate it is. I am going to London this coming weekend so will have a proper look in the boutique. I’ll keep you posted!

Hi Deborah, sorry its taken me so long to reply. My leather is wearing well. I haven't got any marks as yet and have used it quite a bit. I love the grey chevron- though as much as I prefer the look of the grey- I know I am to clumsy to have a lighter lambskin as I think it will show wear more. I have a jumbo flap and it does carry quite a bit more than this bag- probably because its so compartmentalised. I'm replying to this so late tho- have you already been??? did you get it??? xxxx

Emma Anders thank you for your reply. Don’t worry at all I did post the question on an old video so wasn’t sure if you would see it. We went to London last weekend and I had a good look at it. Although it is absolutely stunning the grey is sooo pale and I just couldn’t do it! I also decided that I do prefer the quilting rather than chevron. I decided to wait until they (hopefully) bring it out in caviar. I then looked at the peekaboo mini and fell in love so bought that one.

I haven't taken it on an aeroplane- but with my delicate bags I usually take a small dust bag to protect them and try to place them under the seat in front of me.... I would have fear of it getting damaged in the lockers xx
