@@genewatson8720 Wow, Thank you so much for responding to my post. I have been a loyal fan since the '70s. I use to have all of your albums in vinal. Someone robbed my home and took all of them along with a great stereo. I had Bose Speakers. It was a rocking stereo. I use to put Gene Watson albums on and rock the neighborhood, lol. I was never able to recover my albums or stereo. They don't make them anymore. God Bless you Gene Watson for responding to my post. Your voice truly got better with age. I love listening to you. Where was this song in 2000 when I needed it after a 20 year marriage that I have never been told why, went wrong. Could have used it back then. Gene Watson is my favorite "real country" singer. Saw him in person about 25 yrs. ago. Awesome ! Yes he should be in the Hall of Fame already !

I've always been a fan of Gene's...since day one..I've followed his career and music... Bet' I have all his albums, I'm so glad there is a singer out there that actually puts down on paper what our emotions feels. I had the honor of seeing him in concert. He owned a tonky honk here in Oklahoma City' ...Jamie D's.... was there every weekend.... I couldn't picture country music without Gene. He doesn't get the credit in which he deserves. I enjoy watching him on " Country Family Reunions".... I pray he stays in good health. We've lost so many legends these past few years. Great singer, listened to him and Mo Bandy on commercial job sites in Houston. We laid up drywall/tape/float/caulked with our boom-box blasting....and finished ahead of time. Good times when I was younger and had the pace.

What presentation, stage presence, performance, voice quality, interpretation, conviction ;and humility you have. I love it! I stumbled across this song when I was a teenager and my boyfriend at the time was alot older than me but he was really messing up our relationship. I listened to this song and I realized he was really trying and he, we did keep our relationship together. 20+ years later and he has passed but is still very much the love of my life and this song is so very much why!

I can't believe he did it. Gene closed his show in Waco last night with this song as his encore. After telling the story of how and when the song came to him and his doubting his future in the business at the time, he asked for prayers hitting the high notes and promptly dove in and nailed it. Shocker huh? The crowd went nuts. Almost 80 and still the best. Thank you, Gene and the Farewell Party Band. Great night.
