I made it to Puerto Rico! But it's not my final destination... and I still need to travel over 600 nautical miles to make it to Grenada AND it's beginning to be peak hurricane season. The squalls are picking up and the nice weather windows are getting harder and harder to find. As I work my way southeast, I do take a little trip into town to PROVISION; it was a big treat and I give all the tips on how to save money when preparing to live on your boat!

In Dutch we have a special word for bulkshopping for your boat, we call it "Bunkeren". It means stuffing your boat with whatever you may need. I love it!!! And so do you considering your smile 🤩

Good luck with your crossing. Many diesels require a preheating of the glow plugs with 1/4 throttle in neutral and that usually worked for me 100%

Our sailboat had a Yanmar diesel, and no glow plugs. Just used compression to start. It was even possible to hand-start it with a winch handle and a compression release lever. Actually, I had to do it a couple of times. I'm not sure how common glow plugs are on marine diesels....

Man.... Costco is going to have to re-provision after your provisioning 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That Japanese BBQ sauce is awesome 🤙 Glad you were able to fix your starting issue by changing out your Racor filter. One of my Racor filters had a leak and spilled gas inside my bilge. Good thing I have a keen nose. Close call that's for sure. You're getting close to Antigua but I'm not there at the moment. If you do stop there or Barbuda, be careful navigating. There are many reefs and heads around. Many folks have run aground. Enjoy your sail to Grenada. Cheers 🤙

I should have posted this comment for the last video I watched which was the installation of your new Battle Born Lithium Batteries. Anyone who says that girls can't keep up with guys when it comes to maintaining a boat, or building/fixing stuff needs to have their head examined and that video is proof! You're awesome and I really enjoy watching your videos because I'm aspiring to buy a boat and become a cruiser myself. I've been watching your videos since I got the cruising fever about 2 1/2 years ago along with Sprear It Animal, Expedition Evans, We Sail and Sailing La Vagabond and you are probably my favorite cruiser because we are a lot alike. I'm a bit of a loaner and was worried if cruising was something that could realistically be done solo. At least with a reasonable work/play balance... I mean, what fun would it be if you were just up to your neck in boat projects and maintenance all the time?! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all the awesome videos you post and maybe we'll cross paths at some point out there!

Looks like you are just about ready for the cruise. Whens the last time your fuel tank was checked for water? Even with a separator, you can still get water in your injectors. Giving hard starts. Just another soloist lol, aways trying to think about all the detsils prior to weighing anchor. Love the videos. You are genuine and besides you love cats. Mark Twain was right. Lauren, maybe you could start adding Lucas fuel treatment to your engines. I had a 2007 diesel Sprinter RV that almost wouldn't start and had a rough idle. A concrete contractor told me to start using Lucas. I added Lucas to the tank and drove the RV to town and back, then waited 9 days. The Lucas soaked into the fuel system and injectors. Then the next day, it started and ran like new. So now I even put Lucas in my 2018 Ford RV's gasoline tank and I think Lucas keeps the spark plugs, injectors and fuel system clean because the V-10 engine starts really well. Lucas is available in the gallon size at Walmart. Buy the quart size as well because it is marked in ounces on the bottle and you can refill the quart from the gallon. Sorry if I didn't tell you about Lucas before you left Puerto Rico and Walmart. A fine boat you have. I like the fine interior woodwork, the wing keel and the furling mast. Your boat doesn't seem to pitch and roll very much, maybe because the wing keel helps. If needed, try a swallow of honey before sleep. Honey is a hypnotic.
